Funny how we're raised with this aspirational culture where you want choice real estate in the most valuable part of town, own the most expensive toys and gadgets. Yet when you acquire all of it, you begin to wonder - what is it all for? You own the most spacious property in the best part of town, yet you're lacking human connection. You're constantly surrounded by staffs who wish they were you, yet you're the most lonely. All the money, yet there's only so much food you can eat at once. You can only ride in one vehicle at once. You can only sleep in one room, on one bed at once... It's nice to be good at what you do and for the market to reward the value you bring. Just remember to treat people with kindness on the way. Because at the end of it all, it's the relationships we nurture and the lives we touch and influence for good that count.

Speaking of the architect, Sir David Adjaye, I hope that you get the opportunity to see his design work on the National Museum of African American History and Culture. This unique building is situated in Washington DC; Sir David Adjaye included design features, on the outside, to reflect West Africa, the area from which our enslaved African ancestors came to the New World of the Americas and Caribbean.I live on Long Island, a suburb of NYC but I worked in Manhattan for over 35 years. We come in, during the festive seasons, for the theatre, shopping, St Patrick's Cathedral etc.

What they don’t tell you about Wall Street. Wall Street is named after a wall built by enslaved Africans in the 17th century. Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam (now New York City) constructed the wall as a defense against potential attacks. Enslaved people not only built the wall but also rested against it during breaks, which contributed to the area being referred to as "Wall Street." Over time, the wall was dismantled, but the name remained as the area became a center for trade. The street also played a role in the buying and selling of enslaved people, tying its history to the transatlantic slave trade.

You’re so right about the Lagos thing. If you’re from Lagos, you would want to live in NYC due to the same energy they both have (hustling spirit and networking) but paying that much for an apartment is just too much. I’ll rather buy a house in the suburbs of NJ and drive an hour to NY when I need to, then you can have that balance. Love the video ❤

I live in NYC and I find it crazy that people are praying to GOD to move or come visit here. If you are not RICH, it is not as fun as you think it is...the biggest benefit is the constant amount of inspiration you can get from around you. And it's very difficult to make friends here if you haven't had the ability to make them from school or a common work. People are always busy and when they DO make plans, they will always reschedule. Don't come over here to have a regular 9-5. You need a plan of success. Always chase your dreams.

Tayo, rather than renting an apartment in the financial district at $30K per month, buy yourself a BROWNSTONE in Harlem or Bedford Stuyvesant, or if you can afford it Brooklyn Heights - a neighborhood that overlooks the Hudson River as the river meets the East River and flows into the Atlantic Ocean. There are parks in the areas I suggested and neighbors in the neighborhood. The financial district becomes a ghost town after work hours and on the weekends.

"GAME OF THRONES" Fans!... this one is for you about New York. I see NY as Kings Landing, because like Little Finger said to Sansa " WE'RE LIARS HERE" LOL! When I go to visit my older sister in NY and she lives in the heart of the Big Apple, I saw everyone telling lies about themselves, including my own sister. Most things lied about is the job they did and how much money they make just to belong in a certain type of click. OMG! I was always irritated and poked fun of my sister later in private for all the lies she told too.
