@@whois_dev9314 mid afternoon it can get busy. However, being that it’s free, I may just go play 7,8,9 if it’s open or just hole 9. Whatever is open. Using common courtesy not to slow anyone down in any way, since they were there first. If they were to catch up, I just skip a hole to get out of their way, go check hole 1, hit up the practice greens, practice bunker, or hit the range. In other words, you get in where you fit in. You have to have etiquette out there. Being kind and patient is a requirement! All that said, I usually go in the mornings and almost never have a problem.

First golf shot I ever hit on a course was on what is now the 3rd hole. It used to be the first hole. My first ball landed about where yours did on that hole. I think there used to be a tree gaurding the right side of the green. Your first hole used to be the 8th. There was no clubhouse back then. Your parents would drop you off in a gravel lot across the street from the current 3rd tee box. The course has changed for the better over the years, obviously. Good on them. If I ever get back that way - the wife and I will definitely play a round.

Picked up the game of golf here when I was 12 years old. Used to get dropped off with a few friends and play 18-27 holes. Also, used to get coffee or chicken broth for .35¢ out of the vending machine on cold mornings. Dum-Dums is a not so hidden gem! Greens are better than a lot of courses out there. I’ve driven every hole here except #2. I may have to go back to complete the challenge! Did I mention how nice the greens are ☑️ 😆 Looks like you enjoyed the course. I hope you took advantage of the opportunity and played another round! Nice putts btw, I’ll have to check out those lab putters.

I moved away from Sharon, PA about 4 years ago and had not played on that course since 2021. Wow things are for sure different. 15 years ago that course would not be that easy to play on. From the sounds of it the greens are still the same but better kept then they were 15 years ago, unforgiving and do not roll out. They have lost a few trees over the years. The tree next to 2's green. made that hole even tougher if you missed right. 3 I see is missing a couple trees up the right, including the oak tree at the hill crest on the right. You would of hit that tree if it was still there. 5 is missing all those trees next to the green on the left think they cut or removed those mid 2010's. Sat out a rain storm under those once. 6's fairway never used to be in the gully because if we got a lot of ran that area was swamp or lake and used to be where that long grass on the top of the hill was at. 7 I cringed when you pulled out a 6 iron because there used to be a creek about 185 yards out and see that has been reclaimed and a culvert was put in. when that was not there I was hit 9 iron and PW in. Then hearing hole 5 will soon be a par 5 soon, I am intrigued. Glad to see this course is looking way better after the rough patch they had in the early 2010's. Back when I was a kid over summer vacations in the early 2000's my cousin would walk that course all day sometimes. We would play from sun up to sun down and then walk back home. So much so the park ranger and I were on a first name basis and was really happy kids my age were respecting the game the way we were and just having fun. (It was funny I ended up working with that same guy last decade in mill.) It was nothing for us to play 54 to 72 holes a day. We were young once and miss those summer days. I contribute those days to practice and how much better we got at golf and it shows today.
