It is finally done! Sorry that this took me so long, I put alot of effort and energy into this one to make it entertaining for you. You know with data being quite boring. Of course, KZbin compression decided to immediately botch my intro title making it look like utter garbage but not much I can do about that. Hope you enjoy this video, alot of hours went into this so please consider liking and subscribing ♥ Take care y'all! ♥

On god mate, this was one of the most entertaining Gaming youtube videos I've seen in a while. And you were throwing so many numbers at me my brain hurt, so that's says a lot lol Subbed and cheers mate!

Glad you enjoyed it!! Would you have preferred if I had presented the numbers slower? I was thinking about doing that but I didn't want the viewer to lose interest either

@CasualLamer Nah mate, you were perfect. The little music number you did to break up the info dump was genius 🤣👌

Respect for farming 1500 nodes. I would have lost my mind after a tenth of that. Enjoyed the video.
@CasualLamer2 ай бұрын
Farming 1500 nodes aren't that much of an issue. It was rather the fact that I had to count manually and the following excel data extraction and evaluation that took so long

Great video. Congrats on 500 subscribers. I will definitely be supporting. I like the added comical content. I would keep the frequency but make them shorter.

For runes you should present a different number, as ta runes is not something people gather the nodes for, unlike the raw ressources for the other mats. The interesting numbers are either kuta/rekutas compared with raw ressources*purple/gold upgrade mat rate when refining other ressources or stuff like 160cp potency runes drop rate.
@CasualLamerАй бұрын
That's exactly the idea my friend. The reason I picked Ta was the fact that it's got a high droprate. This makes it possible for me to use this number as a constant to calculate dropchance for kuta. If I wouldn't have this number I would have to continue to count MANUALLY the nodes I found. With this number I can calculate how many I did farm

To my knowledge, there are five node types that produce alchemy materials (discounting water sources). There are normal alchemy nodes, water nodes, mushrooms, crimson nirn nodes, and shells. Water nodes produce nirnroot and water hyacinth. Crimson produce crimson nirn, only. "Normal" alchemy nodes produce ALL plants that are not in the prior lists. Mushroom nodes produce all mushrooms, and shells produce water hyacinth, powdered mother of pearl and clam gall. Personally, as a start, I would go with "normal" alchemy nodes only, as those are also the only plants that are represented by alchemy surveys. You do not get mushrooms or water plants. I would _imagine_ that in future you are also planning on doing something on surveys, and if you do, having "normal" nodes broken down separately would make the most sense for that more profitable comparison.

Great direction! Thanks alot for the write up:)
@axiomcomplex5579Ай бұрын
@drackar An additional node type that may be worth mentioning is the "Herbalist Satchel" located in places like Blackreach, CWC, Apocrypha, etc. I believe (though not 100%) that it acts as an all-encompassing alchemy node and can contain any plant/mushroom reagent available in the zone.
@plrobsontpmАй бұрын
Em, big respect for doing this by hand, but wouldn't it be easier to write to a farming add-on creator and propose them to include the harvest counter for various nodes. I believe this should be an extremally easy thing to include in an addon, and it will greatly improve your future work. On the side note: I believe the Platinum nodes also drop RUbedite from time to time. It seems you have not included it in your analysis? In such a case the total number of materials from both nodes should be even more close to each other. From statistical point of view, it would be great to compute also the standard deviation, but for that you would need to record all nodes separately. Now, that you have nice averages, the stddev should be easier, it should probably suffice to harvest and record maybe 50 nodes, and you should get pretty decent statistics. It could help to better determine the algorithm ZOS uses to distribute those goods.
@plrobsontpmАй бұрын
Also, if you consider that platinum and rubedite is basicaly the same node, it turns out the average value of that node (pickaxe node) is roughly 330g/node, so on quite close to wood.

Very good video, probably my biggest pet peeve in ESO is that we cannot see drop rates or item drop locations.

@@ParadoxESO Thanks Paradox! Glad you enjoyed it ♡ And yeah this was bugging me too. So one after another material I will test and determine the droprates

if i understood correctly it seems its a 41% chance for heartwood per node. and ochre has the lowest percentage out of the furnishing mats with 26% per node right? (sorry im extra dumb lol)
@CasualLamerАй бұрын
That's what the numbers indicated. But I suspect this to be a margin of error but I'm not too sure with ochre. I concluded I 36% for all furnishing material drops because it seemed unlikely to me that they're different

Can you make a video for the viability of getting gold mats vs selling the raw mats now that the market broke down to less than half it was a few months ago? Also like the probabilities of refining gold mats when you decide to do it each 10 units unlike the whole stack of hundreds at once resulting in less gold mats please. I just liked and subscribed :)

I am actually collecting refining data for weeks now so this very question is coming to an answer in the upcoming weeks! However I don't refine individually because I feel like it's conspiracy that that's having better chances
