I think we assume that animals don't feel pain because humans define themselves differently than animals since we act so differently, even if they feel pain, animals do display pain differently than humans, on the point of humans defining animals, the "humans defining themselves different than animals" might be one of the reasons the Uncanny Valley exists, when a human, or something that has Human-like features does not act accordingly to a human, it causes a form of "distress" in the human mind

The best way to remove nitrogen from a pond is through adding marginal plants. Same as an aquarium essentially. Partial water changes will help as well but I wouldn't worry too much about the single cell algae that turns your water green, it isn't harmful to wildlife in any way. If anything it's beneficial

He has posted a few videos where he talks about going to the gym, but handling all of the animals and doing all of the construction and yard work that he does will probably help him gain white a lot of muscle.

For the pond, a good way to keep nitrate levels lower would be to add plants to the pond. There are some plants that are considered filtration plants that do a good job at taking up nitrogen and releasing oxygen more than others. Pickerel plant is native to the Americas if that matters to you. Otherwise, I'd just google some filtration water plants and see what would work for you.

I would highly recommend a windmill aerator. It pumps air into small lakes/ponds and it's powered by wind. But having fresh air pumped DRASTICALLY reduces all the nasty algae and stuff that makes the water nasty-colored. It also makes any fish living in it much happier and healthier since there's oxygen constantly being pumped.

A simple water timer and overflow space on your capybara pool should help you a lot. You could also use the overflow water to grow all kinds of plants. Floating plants like water hyacinth, or water lettuce could help your duck pond.

Water lettuce is always my go to for filtration plants, but as of recent I have found that Pothos are working well for my water. Crawdads are great cleaners as well, I had one for a few years and he kept the floors spotless!

Once you get the pond liner in you should put some small gravel and small chunks of volcanic rock in the bottom of the pond to encourage beneficial bacteria growth so it can eat the ammonia and nitrogen. If you’re really worried about it getting dirty you could always get something like a gravel vac for the bottom of the pond, it should suck up the poop and debris. Also, look into fast growing pond plants and planting some plants on the edge of the pond, they help out a ton. You could also get some snails if you are worried about the amount of algae in there, but since it’s in the sun I don’t know how much they’d help, but plants are the best natural filtration you can get alongside the bacteria
