I don´t know if it will work but once I had a tortoise that was constipated and they way I treated him was by giving him a warm bath. You don´t need a lot of water. You probably could try that with that constipated tarantula by placing her in a recipient with enough warm water to cover her abdomen and not drown her. If you try, please let us know if it worked.
@shsd75794 ай бұрын
drowining isnt really an issue for spiders in general so i think its worth a try
@sleeplessavenue4 ай бұрын
@@shsd7579 drowning is very much a problem for spiders, actually! They have book lungs, which are located on their undersides - as a result it is recommended that you dont ever use a water dish for any arachnids. However, op is on the right track! Instead of a warm bath, I've seen people a damp cottonball or cotton swab for constipated arachnids. Similar tactic, but a different application.

For tailless whip scorpion maybe an enclosure with red glass like the one we use for ant colonies will do the trick. Anyway , hi Petko

I don't know if it's the same for your Latrodectus sp, but North American species make webs where the lines that connect to the ground are stickiest at the bottom, and when prey touch them they spring upwards and the spider comes running. Maybe a more lively Lateralis roach running around on the ground would make for easier feeding?
@TheDarkDen4 ай бұрын
I heard that but I often had lateralis roaches living for 2 weeks on the bottom of the enclosure

Technically all in the order Araneae are true spiders, Araneae literal translation is spiders, being derived from Greek mythology tale of Arachne, a maiden that is transformed into a spider by the goddess Athena. Famous for her weaving abilities, and boastful of her talents. So there's no way a Tarantula isn't a true spider. Non true spiders would be the solifuge (Sun "spider", Wind " Spider"). Ricinulei (Hooded tick "spider"). Opilione (Harvest "spider"). Amblypygi (Whip "spider").
@TheDarkDen4 ай бұрын
that's how in the tarantula hobby is referred to other spiders
@zebedeemadness26724 ай бұрын
@@TheDarkDen "True spider" comes from when Araneomorphae was Labidognatha it's own suborder of diaxial fang spiders. And Mygalomorphae sat with Liphistiomorphae (Mesothelae) in the suborder Orthognatha of paraxial fang spiders, that was a while ago. Now Mesothelae (Middle-teat = middle-abdomen spinnerets) is a basal suborder of Primitive paraxial fang spiders. And infraorder Araneomorphae (Spider-morph) sits with infraorder Mygalomorphae (Shrew-morph), not shrew as in the mammal (although shrews are called as such for the same reason), but the root meaning of shrew being ill-temperd, bad mannered. Now sit together in the suborder Opisthothelae (Posterior-teat = posterior-abdomen spinnerets), so Mygalomorphae would be Modern paraxial fang spiders, with Araneomorphae being Modern diaxial fang spiders. Using true in its true manner then only the genus Araneus (Common orb weaver spiders) being the Latinised version of the greek word Arachne = spider, would be deemed as true. In the same way way that the Cape cobra is a true cobra because it's genus name Naja that is Latin for cobra, with the King cobra not being a true cobra because it's genus name Oesophagus is greek for snake eater.
