OMG I was just thinking about your journey from when you posted about meeting the young lady with the truck on the street a while back. I’m inspired by you and me and mines are planning on getting our CDLs this year. He’s already driving for another company and I’m working hard to purchase our own by the end of the year. That’s what I’m doing saving for my dump truck it’s been a long road but by summer I should be ready to purchase…we’ll keep in touch ok? Make sure you go to your local community college…they’ll pay w grants you don’t have to pay back bc cdl school keeps going up in price…6000 …I didn’t pay a penny 😎💜

i got my cdl without restrictions because i was told the same thing 4 years in and i have yet to plant my ass in a manual truck still good to learn if your getting your own equipment a manual transmission is a lot more economical and reliable than an auto when when it’s time for maintenance or when it comes time to replace it

@ yes pleas look into that not sure about dump truck i haul reefer but a automatic transmission replacement on the cascadia i’m driving currently could easily be 10k-15k vs a manual being closer to 5k a lot of lager carries use autos just to reduce the risk of a subpar driver ruining the trans missing shifts or just abusing it riding the clutch causing premature wear etc but if it’s gonna be your own personal truck def recommend a manual

I would say only focus on what you’re doing and ignore the others. I failed 2 times before I passed on the 3rd try.
