👏👏👏👏👏👏👏The problem in Jamaica is that we tell the population "PATOIS A WE LANGUAGE" and we just leave it has that ..I remember back then kids didn't speak patois to grown folks ,that was a sign of disrespect.Now the population speaks as how they behave.(No structure)
@SammyJ962 жыл бұрын
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 👏👏👏👏👏 Oh my goodness! I thought I was the only one who has been saying this. But you know what I've figured out, the ones who speak with the American ac-ci-dent ( yes, that's truly what is. A big car crash,it hurt your ears.) , are the ones who really don't a have a good grasp of the English language. So, in order for them to be understood they have to fling on the American ac-ci-dent. Since I figured that out I've been a little more understanding, and less judgemental. Because think about it, they teach the English language in school, but the average Jamaican can not speak it well. And the patwah that they speak well, they can't even read that well. I've observed that for some time now. However, you have those who have a good grasp of the English language, but they're so fake and insecure about their Jamaican accent, which leads them to adopt the American accent. It's funny just observing them at times.
@Morgan-yr8fi2 жыл бұрын
@@davidscott3726 There is nothing wrong with speaking Patois. It is the first language that most of our children learn so how could it be a sign of disrespect to speak it. The colonial mindset is very tired and outdated. Give it a rest.
@dvineslim2 жыл бұрын
@@Morgan-yr8fi Exactly!!!!! I tell people all the time that English was not the language of our ancestors. Some of our words in patois is straight from West Africa so Idk why the downturned noses towards Jamaican patois.

@@smacky1966 Undoubtedly, she is a big talent. However, I am going to wait and see how her first year on the circuit as a professional athlete goes before making predictions about where she will land on the podium.
