Thank you guys so much for being here❤ I went back and forth about posting this video a million times because I feared no one would understand what I'm feeling. However, I'm glad it's up, and I hope this video helps anyone who is/has been experiencing something similar❤ I'm much better now, but it's a process that will take time. We hope you guys are enjoying 2024 so far and we can't wait to share more of this new phase of our lives this year❤

Such a wonderful video and honest insight into what so many of us experience, no matter the direction someone is taking but especially in creative fields. We definitely understand a lot of what you were saying - especially the loneliness and although we love what we’re doing and each others company, we crave the social connection. Thanks, Oskar! ❤

Have you ever thought of getting a 9-5 job? It sounds like you are the type who thrives on having constant tasks to do and need some type of schedule to be happy. Since you no longer wants to travel frequently, I think it would be a healthier for you to concentrate on something whether it be actually doing a 9-5 job for the moment which I think will help you mentally, or start a new project that you are passionate about. Maybe going back to school would be a good thing for you while Dan does his airline reviews. Check out Tyler and Todd. They started off travel in camper vans and then ended up getting a plot of land in Canada and started to build their channel around construction of their dream home from scratch. If you thrive better at staying put and make steady friends, then perhaps you want to get a place and do home remodeling (if you are talented that way)? People's lives constantly change and there is nothing wrong with changing the direction of Oskar and Dan channel.

We have been travelling for almost 4 years full time now. Unlike you, we are “slow travellers”, which I think makes it much easier. We usually like to stay in one place for at least a few months and do our exploring. This allows us time to relax and make multiple videos about the location we’re in. We do miss our friends and family, and we try to get back home as often as we can, but it can feel lonely at times. Hope you can find a new purpose now that you are slowing things down :)

Appreciate this insight into what the past year has been. Thank you for your openness and honesty. As you know, 2023 has been a pivot year for us too and a big part of that has been figuring out: who are we outside of travel? Like you and Dan, travel became such a huge part of our identities and how we related to each other, that I think along the way we lost a certain kind of connection. It’s hard to explain to those who haven’t experienced it, but I 100% felt everything you shared in this video. Sending love as always! ❤

Big changes are scary and hard but let your heart guide you to what is right for you. I love your travels w Dan but would also love hearing your piano music. Hi Oskar! You and Dan have gained so much experience through your travels together. You can leverage that experience to create new content. For example: 5 minute micro learning videos on the top 5 favorite experiences in each country. You make one for each country you want to talk about and that right there are 20-30 videos of content. Another suggestion is to have someone interview you and Dan about each country you visited. It could be a series of videos on "reflections from our 100 country travels" There is so much value you've already created. Leverage it to build someone new, like connection videos. I'm sending you both a big virtual hug. Thanks for teaching me so much about the world ❤

I always come back to watching you guys because you are genuine, kind humans. Thank you for your honesty! For what it's worth, I'm a nurse and while in nursing school (and in practice) we focus a lot on the the psychosocial stages of life and development put forward by Erik Erikson. For example, I'm married with two kids so I'm in "Middle Age" where the "task" is Generativity vs Stagnation. The virtue is "care" and the main focus is contributing to society and being part of a family. So, this means raising kids who hopefully go on to be good humans and care for the next generation of life and planet! You are in Early Adulthood which ranges from about 19-29. The "task" is Intimacy vs Isolation, the virtue is love. The goal is establishing intimacy and relationships with others. I have a 16 year old son so according to Erikson he is in the "identity vs confusion" stage (adolescence). Sometimes my husband worries about things regarding our kids but I'm always able to keep perspective because of studying Erikson's stages and it grounds me. I'm like, no - they're right where they're supposed to be and this is completely normal development! There's a lot more to Erikson than I'm hitting on here. It's worth a deep dive if you're interested (he was a contemporary of Freud but more commonly embraced today). I say all this because you are in a transition and maybe you are starting to think about the next stage of life a little.

Hearing what you've had to say I can tell you're going to figure it out. And I'm so grateful that you've had the courage to post this--it's a big help to everyone else going through this. Wow! What a wonderfully honest, authentic and worthwhile video! I saw the thumbnail a day or so ago, and was worried, but thenI incorrectly assumed that the title was clickbait, and you were going to say that you’d taken a wrong turn while travelling from one location to another. Now that I’ve watched it, I’m very moved by your words. I’m also mightily relieved that you and Dan are still together. Oskar, you are a terrific person, and I’m sure we viewers would be more than happy to watch whatever content you create. I will pray that you (and Dan) discover what your next ‘move’ is. Thank you both for all you’ve given us. You are loved! I’m in my 60’s, and am very grateful for all you both have taught me. I hear you and I see you! I’m gay, loved geography and the cultures that came with it. Also travelled into a deep dark hole around some of the issues you discuss. I questioned my self worth and, at times, felt like an imposter. Difference - I am 60. I wish I had the foresight and introspection you are sharing at your age! I didn't have the tools or insights into myself to do so at your age - it took awhile to get there! Stick with therapy, build your tool kit, make social connections where you live, dive into your music, communicate with your husband, and stick to it one day at a time. It gets better! Thaks for bringing joy into my life through your adventures. Come to Philadelphia - you’ll love it here!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel -- it may be a bit distant and hazy, but IT IS there!

I feel like many travel-related channels only focus on the glamorous and rewarding parts of traveling the world, but don't acknowledge the toll it can take on you physically and mentally. I am like you in that I like to have everything planned out in life, but as I get older I'm constantly reminded that so much of life is unpredictable, and sometimes that can be a good thing! Traveled 15 years for work. Life changing experiences happened every week. Your eyes, brains and emotions can't take in everything offered on each new adventure. There are sacrifices and compromises that come along the way. At first, seemingly insignificant and a low price to pay 'for all this'. Then the personal costs increase, the enthusiasm drains. The body and mind fail to rebound as quickly as they once did. The things that recharge you no longer work. Eventually spending more time being still, slowing down and finding a place to sooth the mind, soul and body becomes a stronger inner motivator. Thank you for voicing your journey so openly. You are well equipped to make the better choices for yourself. For me, home is living at 9,000' on a mountain, in the middle of a desert in a forest. Occasionally leaving by car to explore and spend time in other natural setting. The breathe of life in these places are life-giving and healing. Life simplified has been the right choice for me. You WILL find your place.

Thank you for posting this video. I cried a little. I can totally relate to what you're going through. I've had times where I've felt useless and like a failure. I retired five years ago, and I felt like "now what?". I'm also a recent widow. After 30 years of marriage, my husband passed away. It was hell on earth for the first year. It's only recently that I feel like I can see some light again. I'm also introverted, and not at all a procrastinator, so I can relate to that. I've found purpose in a new part time job and new side hustle. What you said about gratitude is so true! I'm so grateful and thankful for everything I have. I know I have more than many people do. I try to keep a perspective, and some balance. Love your and Dan's videos.

Oh Oscar! You were so incredibly brave to share these thoughts with us. Thank you for taking us into your confidence in such an intimate way. The two of you seem to have such a deep and close bond and, I have no doubt that you two will work out a path that is fulfilling and profitable for you both. You mentioned gratitude. That is, in my humble opinion, the most insightful of all of life's philosophies. In adapting such an attitude one first acknowledges that one is blessed, but can then appreciate the hardships of others, and your travels have certainly exposed you to that. When I turned 60 I dedicated the year ahead as a year of gratitude. It had such a positive effect on my life, that I decided to dedicate the rest of the time that I have left, to gratitude for all of life's abundant blessings. Be strong. Lean on your soulmate. Cherish the obvious bond of love between the two of you and I have NO DOUBT that, in time, you will indeed find the mission that we are all destined for in this wonderful life. Much love from Cape Town in South Africa to you both. ❤

Thank you Oskar for sharing. I love you guys and love watching your travel videos... and yes, I miss not see more frequently, but perfectly understand. As I watched your video it got me thinking about myself. I currently work as a project manager for a large international finance company and have been at this role my entire career with different companies. I will be taking early retirement next spring as my husband, who will also be retiring this year, and I love to travel and wish to do more. However, I too, just starting thinking about will I feel "what is my purpose" after I retire because I've been in such a leadership role, getting project done for the company, will I feel at a lost of "now what?". I guess for now, my "purpose" will be to enjoy retirement and travel the world with my husband. FYI... over the past 26 years, we have traveled to 46 countries; obviously not as much as you two in the shorter period of time. But an accomplishment to say the least; especially since none of our family members have even come close to how much we've traveled. Anyway, take care and glad that you're feeling better. Live is a balance, so balance your passion for travel, music, etc. Mark

Just want you to know that I have a deep empathic connection for you as you have completed a major goal so early in your life and are experiencing a sense of loss. You and Dan are interesting, vibrant, young men, and I know that your career will be filled with other passions in due course.

Hi Oskar, Please know that we are always here to support you and Dan. We applaud your bravery for opening up about your challenges. I'm sure most of your viewers have fallen in love with your personalities through your channel and are genuinely interested in hearing about your lives whether it's good or bad. Please don't be afraid to share with us again in the future! ❤

Oskar, thank you for sharing. It was very brave of you to be this vulnerable, and it was actually very refreshing to hear. You are definitely not alone in how you feel. I'm 51, and I still have no clue what my life is supposed to be about. But I will say that your videos bring me so much joy. The travel footage is great, but I think it's the fact that you and Dan allow us to get to know you a bit that makes it special. Now, I'm invested, and I'll still watch whatever your channel becomes! I don't know if you've thought about "interviewing" or scouting out the locations that are candidates for you and Dan to settle down in. If you want to bring us along for that process, it might be fun! Anyway, I love your work, professionalism, and authenticity. Thanks for all of the great videos!

Oscar, Dan.. First, thank you for making us a part of your private feelings and thoughts! I fell like I belong now and that you trust me. Second.. You know what I think when I watch your channels? Here are two awesome men, who are smart, free, resilient, have the right mindset to deal with the entire world and have each other to call mine. Why am I saying it? Cause you are an inspiration that you can do what you want, you can be with who you want. This is a great quality to have and, hopefully, a tiny bit of motivation for you not to question what you are doing. Really love your outlook on life. It's not always roses, so take it and own it whatever it brings. Love you!!!

You are a talented person. Life is filled with high and low. Take a moment and figure out what is meaningful to you. It could take a month, 6 month, 1 year. But see that as an experience of learning and growing. 10 years from now when you look back, you will feel that this process makes you stronger!

Oskar thank you for sharing your honest thoughts and feelings I am a great fan of both of your videos I think since covid most people are feeling this way if they are honest we have all changed and especially if you were travelling a lot for a living when you return to base it’s so unsettling your mind is racing for the next adventure and sometimes you feel like you were adopted as if you don’t belong there I totally get it this turbulence can be very unsettling but it will pass and you will find your joy again meanwhile I am sending you tons of love and light we will always be here for you until the next time see you somewhere around this crazy world 😘😘😘❤️❤️✈️✈️✈️

Thank you SO much, Oskar, for sharing this. So much of what you said actually put feelings that I have felt into the words I’ve never quite been able to find. This was such a moving, touching, and relatable video. It Wishing you all the luck as you continue to find yourself and your passions! I can’t wait to see where this year takes you both! We are here for you too!

It's your mind readjusting to the slower pace of life so what you're experiencing is normal. I would say just vlog what you feel comfortable sharing with us on your daily life whereas that is your music, a new business idea, a new product, coping with mental health etc . Good Luck

Great to hear honesty ❤ what about “slow” travel, where you would visit a country/area for a period of time and “live like a local”. I watch KZbinrs “delightful travellers” and they “slow travel”

Oskar, thank you for giving voice to the feelings that many of us share in these unusual and trying times. It’s important for all of us to remember we’re not alone, which can be very difficult when we’re all stuck behind screens. It’s ironic to think that even people who travel full time can have those same feelings. You’re not alone either. Keep talking and we’ll keep listening and sharing back. 👍🏽🙂

I know you are feeling down however you are not alone!!! Being this transparent is hard. I appreciate your thoughts and how you are going thru the steps to find out where you are in this new role of being … at home. When you switch gears from on the road, travel travel travel, go go go to suddenly being back home, it can be jarring. Like you have empty hands - “ what now?” It is ok. It is a transition and growth for you both. Take a deep breath, meditate, talk about how you feel and find that calm in a stable and safe environment!!!

wow Oskar, you brought me to tears feeling your truth and conviction in your words. your soul is so amazingly beautiful and gleaming bright. my only truth for you is to feel the love around you at all times through the countless souls you encounter on your journeys and the bond with your soulmate Dan. love is the most powerful frequency you will find peace in. heal your chakras that may be out of alignment.

Many years ago I started making a list of everything in my life that I was grateful for. After a few days I started writing things like air to breath, water to drink, flowers and trees etc. There is so much going on around us that we are blessed with which is so easy to overlook. If you are grateful for what you have then you will have more. Finally remember that the journey IS the destination in life.

Hey Oskar, thanks for sharing. Your vulnerability, honesty and openness about this subject is genuine and I can relate. I think many of your followers can. Its refreshing to see content like this and to get to know you a bit better.. Keep up the great work. I thoroughly enjoy what you and Dan do, and I look forward to hearing more from you guys about all things travel, Airlines, music AND your life’s journey, including both the ups and downs. Cheers from Dan in NZ

I thought this was touching and heartfelt and vulnerable in all the best ways and I also think it gives a fascinating insight into the pressures attendant on being a content creator. It’s very easy to see the fun and the glamour and forget about the relentless need to produce content, regardless of your inclinations at the time. Thank you for highlighting this unspoken but undeniable aspect of being on KZbin.

Dear Oskar! So many people have offered great insights and support. I’ll add my own echo to the fact that what you are experiencing is a part of the normal growth cycles throughout you life. I, like many of the commenters, am a few decades older than you, and when my daughter left the nest I had a big re-evaluation of my purpose, and felt very lost. I’m still finding my “new” self! I will add that the “lost” times in the dark when that new seed has yet to break open although hard are very important to the whole process. Try not to feel rushed to find an answer for what’s next, new ideas need time and space to percolate…. and you are wise and brave to be doing therapy, it never hurts to have a skilled and trusted guide to help you work things through. You and Dan are so loved! You’ve got this! ❤️

Thank you for sharing, Oskar. It takes guts to share your most private feelings, fears, and vulnerabilities with thousands of us. All along, we have been able to see the kind, modest, loyal, intelligent, and open-minded person that you are -- a success, anything but a failure, in so many ways. In time, I hope that you will be able to see yourself, and cherish yourself, as we can see and cherish you. May that time come soon, but take as long as you need. We'll be here. Hugs to you, Oskar. ❤

Dear Oskar. Thank you so much for your courage in sharing this video. As someone who has been going through a major life transition myself I can relate to much of what you were sharing. I am sure your video will be helpful to so many people including myself. The only small suggestion I can offer is that I have started recently reading an interesting book called “The Pivot Year” by Brianna Wiest that I found very relevant for my own transition. Wishing the very best for you on your journey.

Hello Oskar this is a message from someone several decades older than you. The most ridiculous of all our emotions is worry. Life is binary. Most of the things which causes us to worry are beyond our control. Let the problems which we can not affect dissolve and let them go. Then only focus on the issues which you can affect. Next learn to understand the importance of being able to shit one's focus. If you can effect even a slight change in one's perspective you will be very pleasantly be surprised. When you do this you will discover the joy of impermanence; nothing lasts. All we have is now. When one really can only live in the now the shackles of the past and the future will disappear and one will discover genuine deep happiness. Once discovered this happiness can be sustained by being kind to those we encounter.

This is a very wise comment. I’m not sure one can learn this other than the hard way though, through internal realisation and making mistakes. Most people don’t even learn from that. But I wish this whole way of thinking and viewing the world was more intuitive so people could learn this without doing it the hard way.

Hey Oskar, It takes a brave man to admit vulnerability to himself & those close to him,to put it out there in front of all your subscribers - whom I would hope like myself - are also your supporters; supporters of you both. My apologies for any mistakes as I'm very dyslexic, but,I watched what you had to say a couple of times & whatever you choose to do,I know you9'll be a success; I hope you enjoy going forward, putting into practice what you have learned up to now. As a man of 60,who knew he was different from the age of 3/4, I have lived a very blessed life.Travel, was part of my father's work & my mother had already gone round the world by herself before meeting him,so we were all brought up to respect others, be it their culture, religion, diversity if we wanted respect for ourselves. Condensed down to its most basic,it means treat others the way you'd like to be treated but, also never let others mistake your kindness for weakness. Both of those statements apply to yourself, probably most importantly,to yourself; that was something that therapy helped me to remember & instigate into my own life & travels that has taken me around the world. As someone who loves the destination far more than the journey, I've watched your travels & enjoyed your experiences, vicariously. Having had a "serious" bf from the age of 20/1 ,through to my early 30s,where we parted as friends, I can empathise more with you, than - this from personal perspective & discussion with other gay men - even the most well intentioned straight friend/ally. Having had two more 10+ yr relationships,we do in the gay world deal with things that our best straight friend, just don't understand. Sadly the world is in the main, designed & run as a hetronormative society; something I would particularly notice when photos were taken - looking back at old photos - though we could put a "manly arm" around each others shoulder,we certainly couldn't kiss or engage in many of the PDAs of those around us. Thankfully I've seen much change through my lifetime, but,the very fact that gay love can still ,by law, threat of imprisonment & in worst case death,in about 70 countries around the world, so one thing I would encourage you - with you capacity for languages as well as your obvious intelligence & erudition - to get involved in the politics of how we as an important part of any society, be it our capacity to create & at its most basic our impact we make with "pink " money & where/how we spend it - going on global figures for 2019,LGBTQ++ adults had a combined buying power of $3.7 TRILLION ! That is of course not taking into account the potential for gay youth and the people who aren't open about their identity. I'm delighted to hear you're involved in Therapy nor surprised at your present reaction, kudos for starting the work on the one thing no one else can access or change, yourself. Going forward I wish you - both - every happiness & joy that we can open our lives to. As a father of a son in his mid 40s,I can certainly tell you children do add reason to one's existence, but, remember there are sadly hundreds of thousands of children, who've lost their own families because they've been brave enough to define who they are & again, there are many organisations around the world, who would benefit hugely from the input of someone like yourself. Finally I would like thank you & Dan for letting me join your journey & enjoy the content you both work so hard to create. Very best wishes to you&yours; looking forward to the next stage of your journey💥👊👋💙💙👌🏳️🌈⭐️'s💯👏👏❤️💯✌️
