@@Tuxedosnake00 it's funny cuz it works. Like most Tekken players that play or fg players know to respect when minus. So since special style is mostly mids and lows, if you respect they'll just 50/50 you or power crush your attack. They just also need to know basic spacing to heat smash and it'll work haha esp with how aggressive and new this game is.

@@Tuxedosnake00 agreed it is not to be underestimated. i actually use special style for fun and it also help a lot with the timing fundamentals. like you be surprise of how many times i won with just using special style. i started it as a prank, like i use special style and play like a newbie from round 1. And if i win i keep using it, and if i lose, i still keep using it till i lose 2 rounds. so when the final match point is up, i turned off the special style and play very serious to throw my enemy off guard. it usually ended with me winning the last round cuz they thought i was a newbie till they say saw me do wavedash and proper sidestep and punish. but now i use special style to help me with the timing and punishment. i realized that i usually play aggressive, so i always keep rushing in and ended up getting CH by my opponent. turning the special style on have help me to learn to slowdown the gameplay and take time to step back and look out for punishment. cuz in special style you can't spam the attack cuz most of the attack is not safe on block, so it help me to be patient and be timing on my attack.

“The best swordsman in the world doesn't need to fear the second best swordsman in the world; no, the person for him to be afraid of is some ignorant antagonist who has never had a sword in his hand before; he doesn't do the thing he ought to do, and so the expert isn't prepared for him; he does the thing he ought not to do; and often it catches the expert out and ends him on the spot.” ― Mark Twain
@KarlKognition4 ай бұрын
The expert being caught off guard by a totaly ignorant person happens sometimes if (not when) the expert goes too easy on the other and the other suddenly thinks they should put all their strength into some weird action. Normally the action is so clumsy or slow that the expert can quickly adjust. In this case in Tekken, the character still executes the technique with expert speed and efficiency. That is not the case outside of video games. (I'm a Judo/BJJ/Grappling coach since 15 years.) This is why I tell those who train with newlings to always be ready to keep the newling under control. I had a case yesterday at grappling where the new guy wanted to jump backwards from sitting with me on his back to try and maybe crush me under him. Unexpected, not something one ought to do but very clumsy. It caused me no issues and he learnt that he would only be strangled further in that position.

special style really is like an emulation of pro tekken. You get a low combo, a power crush, and an air combo. And they may not be highest damage ones but they all can be chained together. So the game becomes simplified where all you have to think about is where to hit and where to block. And you get throws as well and almost automatic throw cancels.
@2.0.1.0.2 ай бұрын
Jesus... Thousands of hours of tekken and you almost got special styled
@shirakani4 ай бұрын
Goes to show that Special Style is in fact useful, like Bamco intended it to be, despite its shortcomings. It doesn't matter how you feel about it, if it lets a complete beginner actually play on even ground and/or even win rounds off a seasoned pro, then it's working as intended. SS was never intended to actually let beginners BEAT pros, that'd be stupid... but it at least lets beginners PLAY without being subjected to not being able to get a single move off and getting completely washed end to end in seconds w/o any chance of resistance at all. That sort of situation is what makes new players quit, and kills games.
@chakrashadow32204 ай бұрын
The fact that a buffoon can hang even with a seasoned pro means it's working too well. You get better at Tekken by losing. That's how the game works. I understand that getting perfected 20 times in a row doesn't help learning anything, but the same could be said about it being to easy. It shouldn't be so outlandish that you can do many things pros do with practice, just by pressing a button. How will they every learn input timings, spacing, combo routes or anything of the sort if it's all done for them at the push of a button?
@SSIKBuLLeT4 ай бұрын
@chakrashadow3220 but you do learn input timings, spacing through special style, this Jin proves it, He wouldn't have gotten as many things in if he didn't have any notion of spacing or timing. so he's not a total buffoon as you say and even then a total buffoon wouldn't even get as far. This jin actually had some clue of what to do.
@chakrashadow32204 ай бұрын
@@SSIKBuLLeT Input timings? Where exactly do you learn input timings here? You hit a button and he does a combo. Where is the timing? You need to have a particular timing to do most of the strings in this game, and it's all absent in special style Also, crazy how I never said this Jin is a buffoon. I said, if A buffoon can hang even against a a seasoned and skilled player, the assist is doing too much. Meaning, a general group, not this player
@kylefields39514 ай бұрын
You kind of spitting here, not gonna lie. One of the easiest ways to shut people out of playing games is just getting destroyed without feeling like you had a chance to play at all. It's why fighting games are a niche genre. I don't use Special Style, but it seems to actually work as intended. To allow Players to actually *PLAY* the game they bought.
