It's actually not the wind. Your pause between the step and rotation of the hips with the slight pause of ripping the bat across is what negates your max potential explosiveness from raised bat through full swing. Work on not pausing and you'd rip homers all day with the wind.

Take a hollow alum. bat and put some DRY masonry sand in it and seal --when you are holding it ready to swing the sand will be in the handle and the barrel will still be light so your swing will be fast but as you swing the sand will go up the barrel and act like a sledge hammer when you hit the ball!

Home runs shouldn't have been the measure, but average distance off the tee. Have spotters in the outfield marking where the ball lands, then add up all the distances between the two bats and get an average for each. The more measurements, the more confidence you have saying if the corked bat produced an advantage.
