I love that you pointed out the shadows. I find it neat that the animals also change. If you listen like 10 min before the birds will quiet and the bugs start their nighttime chirping. It’s amazing. Then they stop as soon as it’s over and the birds return and the bugs quiet. Nature is absolutely neat.

This is so cool to witness. I had the amazing opportunity to travel to some ranch somewhere in the middle of Oregon to view the eclipse where it would be a full eclipse. It was absolutely beautiful. There were rainbows shimmers all along the outside of the sun, which looks like just a black disc. There’s some guy from NASA there who brought fancy telescopes and stuff. I’m forgetting his name right now, but he was one of the people responsible for landing the mars rover. It’s something that I’m never going to forget.

Difference is how far away earth is from sun and therefore size comparison - the sun is much bigger than moon here than it was monday.

I was able to witness totality from where I live (Indianapolis), and it was so cool! It was extremely dark, as if it had turned night in just about two minutes, and all the birds stopped flying, the frogs and crickets came out, and that was the only time it was safe to look at the sun without the glasses. It was marvelous.

Oh, so this one wasn't a total I did, too, a few years ago I was wondering why I still couldn't look at this recent eclips, I keep looking up to see if peak reached and I didn't have glasses to look at it, so I would glance at it. @@Oa515yes, and it will be a TOTAL solar eclipse, unlike the annular one that happened recently! Im not too educated on the subject, but i think that the difference is that in a total eclipse, the moon completely covers the sun while in an annular eclipse the moon is a little smaller than the sun. Total eclipses are rarer, so you dont want to miss it!
