I almost fainted during my LASIK procedure back in 2013 as they used to use a metallic “can opener” machine instead of laser to cut the corneal flap, the pressure on my eye was unreal. Nowadays they use femtolaser. At first the doctor used a large sized lid holder to keep my eye open. The holder on the left eye was too large, so I told the doctor, then he changed it to a smaller size. Ever since I have a saggy left lower lid. Without the lids moving your eyes get so dry quickly which is a very irritating feeling. At that moment I was begging for refreshing eye drops that the assistant smears on the eye every now and then. Nonetheless one of the best feelings afterwards as you see the world nice and clear without glasses for the first time, feel the fresh air on your eyes and realize how big your nose really is 😄

I had lasik done back in 2008. I found an institution that was doing LASIK at a very affordable price. My lasik was a bit different. They brought you in groups and gave you 1 Valium 8 hours prior to the surgery. My surgery didn't involve switching machines. They strap you down, cut open your lense, flip it over and they use a laser then they put the flap back down and then you have to go see the dr a couple of hours later. For some reason my eyes started hurting really bad. They gave me this prescription that made my eye really cloudy. The odd thing with lasik is you will see halos around street lights and head lights the halo is very prominent at night. You will get used to that.

Then after doing them day in and day out for years and years they get burnt out on it and get sloppy and careless with their patients. They start using more alcohol and drugs to give their lives some kind of meaning. This strips the protective sheathes of their nerves, giving them tremors. Their work suffers even more. Their patients more so. People complain it has ruined their ability to drive at night because the scarring causes lights to fracture in to 5 lights, blinding them, causing car accidents, permanent injuries and death. They are sued for this and having missed the last several monthly malpractice insurance payments in order to buy more coke, their insurance has lapsed and is suspended. The victims are awarded 100 million dollars. He only has about half of that and it's tied up in real estate investments. He now has to liquidate everything he owns and do 4 times the amount of surgeries in a day. In order to stay alert his coke habit increases. His wife is his assistant that he foolishly married 8 years ago. Being together at work and at home is hard on both of them. She doesn't understand and doesn't want to. She wants a divorce. She's been having an affair with his secretary with the small tits and big ass. Funny part is, so has he. He catches them at it one night in the office. He calls his lawyer the next day and fills out his last will and testament. He sobs as he fills it out. The next morning they find him in the patients chair with the laser surgical tools duct taped to his head. On the surgical tray before him is a bottle of the numbing agent they use in patients eyes, and eyedropper, a powder grinder, a MacDonald's thick walled extra wide malt straw cut in half, the remaining half of the pile of coke he powderized with the grinder and snorted, a nearly half full bottle of blue raspberry vodka the secretary with the big tits and small ass kept there, not to be confused with her oppositely proportioned counterpart, and an empty bottle of the roofies they give patients before surgery to chill them out and erase their memories. The settings on the surgical tools are turned up to full power. There is a distinct odor of burned hair mixed with the mouthwatering aroma of animal fat cooking. The odor is coming from around the edges of the duct tape. From the holes burned deep into his brain through his eye sockets. That mouthwatering smell of cooked animal fat is coming from his cooking brain tissue, which is made up largely of fat. He has burned (is burning) his own eyes out and enough of his brain to kill himself. His wife and secretary arrive at work together. They left together and spent the night together. Upon arriving they see his car is already there. His secretary unlocks the clinic doors while his wife hangs back and gathers her resolve for another day in eternal the hell of cutting remarks and juvenile sexual innuendo. She hears a scream but it seems distant and she is distracted by her own thoughts. Then she hears it again but this time it's MUCH louder, and choked off mid scream. The part that should have been the rest of a scream was a loud wretching noise followed by the sound of liquid splattering on pavement. It finally registered in her morning brain that those sounds were coming from the back entrance to the clinic and those sounds and fluids were coming from secretary #1. She hurried over to her to ask her what was wrong, but she was still trying to scream and throw up at the same time as sobbing uncontrollably. Like she couldn't decide between them, so did them all. Wife turned and hurried to the entrance but slowed down when she smelled frying fat. She cautiously entered and followed her nose. She saw him and looking at his shirt, barked out a brief loud laugh. "HA!" Before wetting herself and fainting to the floor. Pinned to his shirt is a brief note written in his hand writing... "Occupational burnout. Get it?"

I had this done around 2 years ago for astigmatism(1.5) and myopia(2.5), I haven't experienced any problems or side effects, *so far*. I was about to dip too after reading about every horror story, complication and possible long term damage there is, though I'm glad I didn't. The procedure itself is a little scary especially if you're a panicky type like me, because you will be asked to do stuff like keeping your eyes fully open while the doctor and his assistant try to insert retractors under your eyelids, or keeping your focus on the blinking green dot and ABSOLUTELY nowhere else(This was the part where it took every fiber of my being to not divert my eyes.) while the machine reshapes your cornea. Afterwards, you have to immediately put on a good pair of sunglasses, get the drops if you haven't and head home as soon as possible. There's good too. At least the whole thing takes like 10 minutes and is painless asides the retractor part. Also, despite the terrible blurry vision caused by the separated corneal flap(...yeah) you can still notice your vision problems go away and your sight get sharper in real time, AS the machine burns the stroma. It's an experience like no other. The other bad part was the first 2 weeks after the procedure where you have to constantly apply a multitude of eye drops on your eyes that are already burning like crazy, and you have to sit in complete darkness for a day or two(I hogged the bathroom complete with pillows, blankets, snacks and my phone auto playing podcasts.) You will have to continue using eye drops many times a day for a couple of months since your eyes are gonna be dry in the meanwhile(I always had dry eyes long before, so it wasn't too bothersome for me.) Regardless, I'd do it all over again without hesitation.

My own sister has gone through this process by the professional doctor and sergons . After 2 days the doctor called for the next approach of eye testing, amazingly it was very perfect and my sister reads the letters very fast and fluently. I was totally shocked that my sister can see everything clearly in just 1 day as she was wearing specs from at least 13-14 years . At last, hats off to doctors and experts in this new era . May you all love long, be happy and stay growing. 💗🤞🫀

Before anyone just decides to go hop on the lasik train, please look into the side effects and possible downsides. It is a huge surgery and isn’t always a success. It works for some, not for others, but in either case it usually causes your vision to deteriorate faster at an older age then if you left it alone and just got glasses

Don't. I've considered it for a long time but after several ppl I know got it done, I'm not. It burns the oil glands and tear ducts so you will have dry eye forever after. Everyone I know who had it done regrets it and now needs eye drops several times a day for the rest of their lives. A couple of them even had stints put in their tear ducts to try and save them, didn't work though. One girl had to get the surgery again 10 years later because it didn't fix 100% the first time and could no longer wear contacts as an option because fkn dry eye. 🙃

I had a procedure called Lasik, SmILE where they "cut" a section out of my cornea with the laser and then cut a small hole and scoop the separated material out through the cut so I don't have a flp. Had my one month appointment last week and everything is looking great! Good luck on your recovery.

I had laser eye surgery when it first started being used in the 2000s and this is so wild so much its progressed. Back then they gave me a jelled up lens that I had to hold in my eye like a monocle. Then they had me stare at an area and shoot lasers in to help clear my vision after I already had a lens replaced the year earlier from a cataract. I was also like 8/9. Eyes are WILD.

@@castrokaah The lower the number something like 15/20, the better your vision. The higher the number the worse your vision. 24 years ago I got this procedure done. Was a bit less... all lasers then. Still 20/18 and 20/20 down from like 20/200 The thing that made the flap for me was a "microkeratome"... or tiny razor on a little geared track. I did not have to move machines though. And I got no sedatives. There was no pain and the moment they flip the flap back down, your vision is awesome. Takes a couple days for the flap to fully heal back.

Had LASIK done recently [two months ago] and its all in one, takes about 1hr total pricess time with the surgery done in about 10 mins. Its all done at one station now, youre given a muscle relaxer, and it only took about 2 days before i was able to start managing aftercare. In 2-4 weeks i was able to see at 99% 20/20, and in 6-8 months it should be healed in full. Doctor reccomended no contact sports until atleast a year later but all in all it is well worth it. Price for both eyes was $4900 and medication was only about $37. Eye drops after the fact are, at this time, roughly only $64/3 months depending on how dry your eyes get. The eye drops were non prescription and the brand i use is Systane. All in all well worth the investment
