It's so satisfying to have a big, chunky blanket that works up so quickly. I love the solid granny blanket on the back of your chair. Bernat blanket yarn washes up beautifully and will soften in the dryer. Even though the label suggests an 8mm,i find it far too small for the blanket yarn. It makes a dense fabric that is suitable for a floor mat but not necessarily a blanket. And hdc vs dc will likely exacerbate that. I normally use - and recommend - a 10 or 12mm, depending on how tight your tension is and how much drape you want.

Aww thank you. Yes, I'm teaching her slowly! She knows how to chain, single crochet and double crochet. I'm teaching her to make a small square with moss stitch. She does have the best ideas!!
