Well...we made it. I finally finished STAR TREK: PICARD. To celebrate, here is a DOUBLE FEATURE REACTION to "Vox" and "The Last Generation." What a ride this show was. Hope you all enjoy watching this as much as I enjoyed making it.

Terry Matalas has been like a gift from the Trek gods. TNG fans couldn't have asked for a more pitch-perfect final adventure with the entire cast working together, each having important contributions. It was such a celebration of the TNG era, and even though it was filled with fan service, it always fit and felt genuine. I never would have thought that what I was missing all these years was "TNG Meets Wrath of Undiscovered Country." The best of the best. It's been fun watching your reactions to it.

Terry Matalas also stated in an interview (sorry if someone already mentioned this) that the final scene with the poker game was mostly unscripted. He just told the cast to play and chat for awhile and he filmed them. So while you can't hear what's being said over the music, all of the expressions and reactions are simply the cast hanging out together. This really shows that the cast was just as close as the characters they play.

You know what's really great about the attention to detail the CGI guys and girls paid...? Look at the forward part of the saucer ventral and dorsal sections - it still bears the damage from impacting the Veridian III complete with friction scorches from the entry path. Also, the bridge dome has a bit of damage visible where it shattered on landing, the forward part of Deck 8 and 9 has crush damage from hitting a large tree, lifepod covers above and to starboard of the portside section of Ten-Forward are split, port impulse engine is dinted on the lower exhaust... Hell, they went to the trouble of adding the models in the briefing lounge

It amazes me how meticulous the effects artists were. The production of the show as a whole is remarkable. Even though I missed a lot of the finer details whilst watching the show for the first time, I can't help but admire the amount of time and effort that must've been put in.

I get extra emotional watching the Enterprise D come back because of a good friend of mine. He got me into Star Trek when we were young but he passed away from Cancer in his 30s, not long before Star Trek Picard was announced. He idolised Picard (though personality-wise he always reminded me of Worf) and he would have absolutely loved the whole series, but especially this ending. Every time an old character shows up I imagine him totally geeking out and it's a very melancholy feeling.

Terry brought back the original menacing Borg (what was left of them). There is a line in the holodeck by Shaw when he was going after Picard when he was Locutus doing what he did. I'm paraphrasing but "The real Borg are still out there". Basically dissing the GeBorgi hippy Borg from season 2. Many missed that line, but it's there. Great Reaction!

Congrats on getting to the end this was a fantastic season and great send off to the TNG crew. There was some poetry with Shaw's death with his life coming full circle. Shaw never got over being chosen to leave when the Borg attacked his ship at Wolf 359 now he got to help others leave when it happened. There is a push, and all involve want to do a series called Star Trek Legacy which would be Seven, Raffi, Jack, and Sydney on Enterprise-G. Personally, I don't mind the Titan being renamed the Enterprise my only reservation is the Titan lineage had its own legacy that kind of feels disrespected. But as for the G not being a new ship it reminds me of Voyage Home where Starfleet gives Kirk and his crew a new Enterprise for saving the world which was a renamed Yorktown vs a new vessel. Overall, a great end for the TNG cast.

when I saw the episode 9 and i confirm, it was EPIC and I never cried so much of deepest Trekkie emotions as in this episode the first was when Adm Shelby speaks about Captain Archer and the NX-01 Adventures, the second the death of Capt Shaw with the 7of9 farewell and then the revealing of the NCC 1701-D, it gets me completely when this wonderful Galaxy-Class fly out of the Dock and in the Background is my beloved NX-01 Refit. BTW what i liked was on the Bottom of the Fleet-Diagram the USS Okuda and the USS Drexler, a little honor for the Designers and of course the USS Hikaru Sulu Episode 10 was a little bit weaker in my opinion but it was a decent send off for the TNG crew

Been thinking about this awhile. The way the borg got there, was because literally Starfleet was turning a blind eye thanks to the Changelings... Sensors just turned someplace else . Course I am also convinced Shelby was a changeling. The hint is that there is no way Shelby would have signed off on 'fleet formation'. So she ain't dead. The reason the changeling version of her was so surprised and taken out was that they had an agreement with the queen, that was promptly nullified once she got what she wanted... after that, they were expendable and inefficient to keep around.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your reaction vids. I felt exactly the same, beat for beat. I must applaud your ability to anticipate where everything is going. There are countless times when, not just in these episodes, but the entire season where you pause to think aloud what you think is going to happen or point out something that needs explanation- only for those exact things to occur in the very next scene. Most YT reaction vids who have that much "yup, I called that one" or "I wonder if **** is going to happen; oh, there it is" are suspect to insincerity about it being a first-time viewing; but with you, there's no doubt. Your feelings & thoughtful commentary are shared by millions of grateful fans. What Nicholas Meyer did to rejuvenate classic Trek, Terry Matalas has done for TNG. As for Q, that's going to be interesting story dynamic if CBS/Paramount give Matalas the green-light to proceed with ST:Legacy. A lot of fans question how he can be there if he died. Like Doc Brown says, "we're not thinking 4th dimensionally." He died, but he's a non-linear being. "Aren't you dead?" "Yes, I will die last year....or maybe the year before, but definitely this century!" Good editing & good comments. I agree, we should hope for a new series in ST:Legacy because there's no way a 4th season of ST:Picard could possibly live up to this. There's no topping it.

49:49 Majel, knowing that she wasn't going to be around much longer, came in and recorded a ton of extra lines, just anything that they expected she would ever need to say. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of it has already been used in place of actually bringing her in to record, but I'm sure there's still some left. They could easily script around some of it. Also, addressing the different treatment of Titan and Excelsior, Excelsior had also broken Fleet Formation. That's why it was destroyed, because it couldn't be controlled anymore. As long as the Titan can be, the Borg will still hesitate to just throw it out.

I'm pretty sure Starbase One and space dock aren't the same thing. In that shot with all the explosions around Starbase One, I don't recall seeing it explode. Those explosions were probably on the starbase's shield. Space dock is the scaffolding where The Enterprise refit launched from in The Motion Picture. As for Q, I was happy to hear his "linear" line. I'd been saying that since he died in season two. The Q we saw die was a future Q, possibly from the last moments of the universe itself, who'd come back to that point in time to go out with a bang instead of a whimper.

I think spacedock and starbase are used interchangeably, I'm not really sure. If I remember correctly, some one has a line where they say "spacedock has fallen" during the finale.

This was just the end the the TNG crew needed to make up for how badly Nemesis handled things. The science geek in me is a little annoyed at the Borg cube hiding in Jupiter's giant red spot, since that's actually a violent storm with insanely high winds that would tear apart anything that tried to park there. Also, Jack has got to be the ultimate nepo baby. He willingly went to the Borg and participated in the death of probably thousands of people, and they just give him a commission? We all criticized Kirk going from Cadet to Captain in Star Trek 09 but at least he spent 3 years at the Academy first. I mean, at least Jack doesn't get an actual useful job. He's "counselor to the Captain" which I guess means that he sits in a chair out of reach of any vital system, and Captain Seven is free to ignore whatever he says.

Yeah I definitely think the Borg transwarp conduit in Jupiter is a bit nuts but it's fine. Kirk going from cadet to captain in '09 has always driven me up the wall. Jack going from cadet to ensign in a year is still a stretch but much easier to swallow.

On one hand, they let post-Locutus Picard go back to captaining with a lack of mental health care so profound there's an entire episode about how fucked up he still is, so it's nothing new. On the other hand... I think your last sentence is the actual situation. The console at his chair probably has some nice distracting games on it 😂

All Good Things, and this season are my wrap up for TNG.😄Curious though about Picard reconnecting with the Borg-this is a cloned Picard consciousness in the golem android body that we’ve all just smiled, and nodded, and accepted as Picard(As much as Data is Data- no arguments here) so it would have been like Data plugging into the Collective! Also- loved the nonlinear appearance of de Lancie’s Q post credits- one final bookend from Encounter At Farpoint! Thank you for reacting to this season, and all the other TREK you’ve covered!Cheers- Jameson 😄🖖🏽=A=💫🌿🌌

It blows my mind how they seem to have no problem moving Starbases around, like the Fleet Museum. You'd think it would be kinda tricky. Maybe they just break them down and then reassemble them elsewhere.

@@chattery I’ll bet starbases and the like are pretty modular. As in, a basic starbase design can fulfill several functions based on interior tech and arrangements. So they have sections of base that can have a deck of personal quarters, science labs, admin offices, docking bays, commerce centers, public community areas, what have you. All can be pulled out and installed like a diorama display in a wall. So the only permanent fixtures on a starbase would be operations, the necessary crew quarters, engineering, official docking bays, things like that. Everything else can be swapped like a coat or shoes. Be used as needed. Ergo, the base is more of a sturdy framework than a complete structure. Probably lots easier to disassemble and move that way. Then you just bring the decks needed to act as Starbase One and you’re good.

"The Even More Next, Next Generation" ST: T(EMN)NG On a more serious note. Yes, you should consider the time travel shenanigans of Pretendcard Season 2 as wiping out Seasons 1 & 2 and all of Duhscovery and realigning closer to the Canon Timeline. This season gave us what appears to be a Canon Constitution class starship (USS New Jersey) in the Fleet Museum along with direct ties to the Canon movies (Enterprise-A, the Klingon Bird of Prey, Veridian III & Kirk's body, etc.)

I was a little against the Borg being involved in this season but overtime I’ve come to accept it and realize that they are the biggest enemy that the TNG crew has ever faced. They need to be involved, especially for Picard. I’ve never seen the other two seasons, mainly because I knew something wasn’t right. So I never saw how they ruined the alternate timeline Borg in season 2, which allowed for me not to feel like the true Borg here were overused. Overall, this is a great conclusion for the TNG crew. The original series crew got theirs in Undiscovered Country and now TNG gets there the final season of Picard (which I just refer to as Star Trek: Legacy). I’ll definitely be leaving the franchise with this final entry. This is about as good of a finale as we are ever going to get out of modern-day Star Trek.

Ah man, been loving your content lately - I'm 38 and was in tears watching this scene. This season fixed so much of what hurt my soul about how the movies left the Enterprise crew. I don't even care if it's pure nostalgia - as far as I'm concerned, it's nostalgia done right. Great reaction videos man - you're well-informed, love Star Trek and it's a joy that you're willing to share how emotionally invested you are in this universe. You're an intelligent (and emotionally in-touch) young man and just wanted to reaffirm that. Been loving your Lower Decks content too, keep it up - I'd almost love to hear you discuss Star Trek with other content-creators, you clearly have a lot of meaningful opinions to share. Keep it up buddy :)
