Leo, greetings from Wyoming. Actually there is a way to tell if chrowt are wild or stocked. Stocked fish will have ragged dorsal fins. Fingerlings chew on each other. If the dorsal is even it's wild. Love your winter creek chrowt vids. Keep up the good work

Up north WINsconsin in Marinette co. I fish for trout in the cold streams & in my moms back yard (The Menominee River) I fish for smallies, walleye or on slow days anything that bites;and hook the occasional channel cat. Once in a while, when I’m having a beer, I will wrestle in a sturgeon Just for the halibut! I barely fish when I get home to Milwaukee County because I’m so spoiled up north!

I had so many situations where i can see that they saw me so no need to try catching tem. Just move to the another spot. I am talking about my German area experience. When i go for wild trout, i am fully camuflaged and move totally in slowmo and mostly lying...or "walking on my knies" this is how i get the most of out it!

I gotta give you credit and respect for fishing in Bucksy County, in search of "wild" trout". I'm lucky enough to live in Berks County, where we have tons of class A "wild" trout streams. One thing you can do to help keep Trout from getting mangled, like the one you showed, is to replace those treble hood, with a single hook, using a slit ring to attach it. You'll also get less snage and resultingly lose less lures, that you will with treble hooks. That how I modify 1/16 oz Rooster tails, that I get @ walmart.

Cant trespass in PA if your in the water. You can boat float or wade through private property as long as you stay in the water and entered the water on public property. The state owns all flowing water ways
@extremephillyfishing4 жыл бұрын
When it comes to Riparian Rights, it actually depends on the "navigability" of the waters in the state of Pennsylvania. What you described works for navigable waters. For non-navigable waters like the stream in this video, property owners OWN the land to the margins of the water, and sometimes the entire stretch of the Creek if the property is owned on both sides of it.
@TheFishingNomad4 жыл бұрын

Much props for respecting the local's property even through they probably don't own the creek. I would've trespassed lol..
@extremephillyfishing4 жыл бұрын
I always respect it. Think from the owners' perspective: how would YOU feel if folks trespassed on YOUR property? Right? If one is unhappy with the rules and regulations, one must fight to CHANGE THEM. And never blame on the property owners. They paid for the property. They pay taxes. They own it.

Dude! Love your channel! Question:do trout hold over in the d&r canal? I'm itchin' to fish! ( also wondering about stocked creeks in the area)
@raydett85374 жыл бұрын
Does the Pennypack creek in Phila produce wild trout? I thought you may have mentioned it in a previous video but not certain. I do know the spring stocker trout can be be caught all through June as my last catch was Sat June 20th 2020. I'm investigating to see how long into the summer they can be caught. A lot of people give up after a month of stocking but I'm still hooking up 3 months after the fact leading me to wonder do the stockie trout spawn in Pennypack and do these wild trout become more tolerant to the warmer summer months water. I know they holdover all through the winter so I'm testing their presence into the summer months. I am a believer they just may but only in certain pools and areas where colder water springs feed directly up through the bottom of the creek in areas where the water remains much cooler and is more oxygenated.
