You MMA experts need to stop playing your stupid games, when you're watching actual sports at the very elite levels, where skills are so even matched, more often than not, you don't see dominating situations (unless someone is really old, hurt, or not deserving the fight they're fighting in, and so they're easily out classed). The guy Pantoja's lying on top of was not some part time taxi driver he could just sub. Royval is a very creative and deadly BJJ guy himself, not just Pantoja... like the magical Colby D1, magical Colby cardio, & magically relentless Colby pressure: you CAN'T DO YOUR SHIT, if the other person has SOME SAY it the whole thing. Colby din't keep running at Leon, first, because Leon could EASILY KO him with a kick or a knee, in less than 1/100 of a second; secondly, by the time he's warmed up, Leon had already chopped his legs to shreds. It's only due to Colby's exceptional durability that he could fight to the end. Watch clips of him limping through the hallway, on his way out of the stadium: both legs were iced with big bags... he could BARELY walk straight... Leon may not be a KO man like Shavkat; but he is a very REFINED, very ACCURATE technical point fighter who could land on the same spot 10,000 times like Bruce Lee used to say...

I disagree with your takes on Pantoja and Shavkat here. Why is it that the winning fighters are perpetually being criticized for exploiting a huge flaw in Wonderboy's overall game? In 3 of the last 4 Wonderboy fights, his lack of ability to get off the cage/compete in the clinch has costed him the victory (and has costed fans their entertainment). In August of 2022, over a year ago, Wonderboy was quoted saying that "It doesn’t make sense for me to face another heavy grappler. Let me work on my craft a little more, especially when it comes to wrestling". This was also in conjunction with him declining a fight with Shavkat. Wonderboy has been in the UFC for over 10 years, has 25 fights in MMA, and PRIOR to the Shavkat fight had recently lost 2 clinch-heavy fights. If there's a well laid out blueprint to defeat Wonderboy and his opponent takes it (instead of standing in front of one of the best strikers in the UFC, quite like how Strickland stood in front of Pereira), I don't think the opponent should be criticized for making a good decision. On top of that, Shavkat was pushing for and SUCCEEDED in the submission of Wonderboy (who hasn't been submitted in the UFC). My take; if Wonderboy is fighting anyone with any strong wrestling ability, he should be prepared to address being clinched. This has happened to you in 2 of your last 3 fights, and you declined Shavkat over a year ago claiming you would work on your wrestling craft more. Shavkat implemented a good game plan, finished Wonderboy, and IS exciting. He has a 100% finish rate, and watch his fights outside of Wonderboy; I'd claim that WONDERBOY is the boring fighter unless he's matched up with someone who exclusively wants to strike (like Kevin Holland). Wonderboy is a fantastic person and a great fighter. I think if he continues to fight, he should only be fighting a select few fighters that likely wouldn't grapple him; Ian Garry, Jack Della Maddalena, etc.
@harshatomas8359 ай бұрын
Shavkat defeated Wonder boy the same way Jon Jones defeated Cyril Gane. One dimensional striker was defeated by pure grappling exchanges and this does not mean that he is overrated. UFC matchmaking went wrong. Shavkat was supposed to fight Gilbert Burns. As well as Wonderboy would have face Jack Maddelana. The whole thing turned around

Shavkat shutdown Wonderboy and submitted him. What many people tried and failed to do against him. Also a Wonderboy age has caught up to him.
