This is ridiculous. A therapist can’t diagnose you with “memory loss”. I have short term memory loss from a traumatic brain injury and I am just at a loss for words. Also, it took about 6 visits before my therapist felt comfortable officially diagnosing me with PTSD. No credible therapist would diagnose someone with FOUR highly complex disorders without having multiple conversations and analyzing behavioral trends. This is an insulting joke to anyone who has ever struggled with any time of mental illness.
@greysoncpeltier5 жыл бұрын
Shannon Jku She said she went to a psychiatrist and MDs tend to diagnose more readily than therapists. I do understand that getting a correct diagnosis, especially with complex cases and cognitive symptoms in particular, is something that can elude most therapists and psychiatrists unless you go to a neuropsychologist.

Thank you! Like it took my psychiatrist and phycologist literal YEARS to diagnose me with bipolar and OCD. Like 6-7 years to be exact. Plus you can't have a depression diagnosis AND a bipolar diagnosis at the same time. Because they are different severities of the same disorder. also. What type of bipolar does she supposedly have? Cause if you got diagnosed. They would've told you that

(Not an amberlah defence, a mental health issue defence) I don't leave the house for days at a time, insisting my boyfriend who works 30-50 hours a week does my shopping for me. I don't see friends often because they would rather go out obviously but I have pretty severe anxiety, I believe but have no diagnosis that I am agrophobic, I have spent since the age of 12 in solitary, in my room playing games or watching KZbin. When I lived with my mum I'd go to the shop once a week and buy enough food to last the week. I'm not overweight and I'm not lazy, I'd do anything to change the way I am (except take meds, I did that before and they made me numb so I cared less but still did the same things because I didn't care) I don't like not doing anything, but it's almost impossible to force myself to do stuff. I know we're talking about Amberlah but she clearly does have mental health issues, some are made up but some are real and it's quite easy to see which is which when you know what you're looking at.

Uk viewer here and nurse. It’s extremely unlikely that anyone would be diagnosed with one let alone four mental health conditions on a first appointment basis. Usually a patient will present with a long detailed mental health history where previous mental health conditions may have been already diagnosed but for an Initial starting point there would be in depth assessments spanning multiple appointments before anyone would risk their medical profession by declaring one let alone four on a first meet basis. I call BS
@kayking63585 жыл бұрын
Mandy Uk I can confirm this. On the road to my mental diagnosis I made multiple visits to multiple doctors, had to speak with a therapist, took tests (some written), all before I was even diagnosed and later medicated to help treat my mental health. Even after the tests I still have to go to therapy. It’s a full time thing when you have mental illnesses that you actually want properly treated. I don’t go around telling people for sympathy or pity because it’s unnecessary (this was years ago and this is the first time I’ve actually said anything about it). Total BS.
@greysoncpeltier5 жыл бұрын
From experience, if you have multiple prior mental health diagnoses and tell the doctor, you can walk away with them regurgitating all of them onto your chart as your diagnosis even if the doctor didn’t test for them at that visit. My guess is that this may be a difference between the US and UK health care systems, particularly with doctors justifying their actions.
@hardworkingdiva5 жыл бұрын
It’s the same in the US. We absolutely do thorough evaluations and testing before prescribing anything (unless you are an over prescribing pill mill, disability churning quack). Also, I would have ordered blood work on Amber to check on her liver and kidney functions. That can limit the types of meds her body can properly metabolize without throwing her into liver or renal failure. If anything, I could see them giving her a light anti-anxiety med to help her in the meanwhile as further observational testing is done. After the results came back, I would feel more confident with moving forward with trying to find the right combo. It’s also very obvious that she would benefit from being seen by a psychologist who’s also an eating disorder specialist. But what do I know? I’m just a “sociopath” and “troll”. 🤣😆

@@livewithkai880 The frontal lobe isn't fully developed until about 22-23. So for your doctor to say you ha e any sort of a mental illness is wrong. You were right to deny medication. Every teenager goes through ups & downs. Its a part of growing up.

lmao was this a drive through therapist? You need blood tests to rule out physiological diseases that cause bipolar symptoms and OCD (hypothyroidism, hormonal imbalances, etc) plus a written mood diary for at least one month to chart manic and depressive episodes. Either this isn't entirely true or you went to a shit doctor who gives out meds like candy without recommending CBT (talk therapy). It also seems funny that every diagnosis you got is something "you've known for a long time" like you went to some yes-woman who just accepted all your ideas...
@cherishedvalor5 жыл бұрын
Amani Mohamed i think your second paragraph hit the nail on the head. Amber went in with what she wanted to be diagnosed with, and said what she thought and played the parts, and the Yes-Doctor just said yes.

I wondered this also as even tho I like Amberlynn I dont see how this is possible. I know it's easier to be diagnoised in the US but in the UK bipolar diagnoise take years... with mood diarys like you said. Could she be mixing up BPD and bipolar affective disorder perhaps?

@@xTwistedPeach I feel ya on that. When I got pregnant with my first, I got up to about 240lbs. and I'm only 5'3. I did not allow anyone to take photos of me. It took me 2 and 1/2yrs to get all that weight off. So yeah, there is no way I would have ever been proud of my weight or shown it off. She is delusional! Can body dysmorphoa work like that? Where you see yourself as thinner/prettier than you actually are? I feel like most people with BD see themselves as bigger.

@@xTwistedPeach Thanks. That weight loss was back in 2007. I'm currently on a new weight loss journey. I'm a recovering addict and being off the dope, I have gained a bit of weight. I needed to gain some because being on drugs, I was at an unhealthy low weight. I am a work in progress, but I always see myself as way bigger than I actualy am. BTW you look great in your photo!
