Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZbin channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

@@EssDubz, How many times any golfer plays their handicap in a month? And how many does it in front of camera crew? How many shoots their handicap or below every tournament they attend? Not many, who play the handicapping game by the rule, trying their best on every one of their handicapping rounds. Golf doesn’t go your way most of the time, so the big thing is, how much your game and shot divert from your best performance. If a basically +6, young Rory McIlroy shoots 74 in a major opening round, is he legit +6 or a professional golfer? You go figure that!

@@PetSKi67 how many? Zero, because that's not what the handicap system is designed for. If you beat your handicap every round then your handicap improves. My critique is that the handicap system is flawed and Rick isn't that great of a golfer

So i watched this video this morning before i went out for a round. Played one of the best 18 holes of my life. I took ricks relaxed attitude onto the course today, didn' t let the bum shots get me down and i think this really helped. This along with trying to swing like Ling (thats my mantra when i stand behind the ball). I love the tempo and style of genevieve ling's golf swing and if i can channel that i strike better, hit straigher and most cases further.

Rick, I have been leaving some questions on Matts and Peter's Channels, asking if those two plus your good friend Andy Carter could do some videos with each helping you get back to your old self with some chipping and to help you think a bit more positive around the golf course. This video was amazing on how relaxed you looked while playing with your buddy and showing how your friends are so so supportive of you. Matt really showed us today how he really feels and wants you to return to form. So would a lot of your fans such as myself. I pray that you will think about this and humble yourself in asking your friends for some help. In this video. You putted a lot from off the green where in the past you would have chipped it. keep up the great fight not just to Break 75 but Breaking Par. Your fellow golf pro from California

I’ve seen you golf with a lot of great golfers, but I’ve never seen anybody drop back to back eagles. Matt! What a finish! Great round by you as well Rick, the positivity was palpable and certainly aided play for ya. Cheers for the great content, can’t wait to see the #Break70 series!

Sometimes you just gotta get back to your home course to right the ship. A while back I was struggling. Couldn't break 80 playing a bunch of courses similar to Rick this season in break 75. Finally went back to my home course and shot +1 73. Just like Rick shooting +1. Get that confidence back and you're back on track. Keep it going Rick!

It's always so impressive to me how comfortable and natural you are on camera. I know you have years of experience at it now but still it's no wonder you're the biggest golfer on KZbin.

In North East Scotland we do a Pie In A Roll... no fancy names... and I agree it is awesome. The roll soaks up any spilt grease or fat, what more could you want. Great to see you enjoying the golf in this episode pal

I can never have enough RS......all your content is brilliant. The highs and lows, just, just real golf. Your demeanour today with Matt was so UP. Just loved the way Matt encouraged you....seemed to spur you on. As you confirmed, its has been a while in the coming but so worth the wait. Truly enjoyable watch...😃😃✔✔

What a very nice, green course! Great round of golf as well! I think the biggest difference between a good golfer and an average golfer is the putting. All of your misses were for the most part tap-ins to clean them up.

I watched this video before heading out in the course today. I took the positive mindset with me. Didn’t let the bum shots bother me and had one of the best rounds of my life. 85 (par 70 course). I think this attitude along with my mantra “Swing Like Ling” because I love Genevieve Ling’s swing tempo and style had a positive impact on my game today.

Need to play this course more Rick. Par 4s reachable with 3 wood. Nice open holes. Par 5s on the short side. This place is break 75 heaven.

Rick, thanks for that duff with the wood to make us normal golfers feel better about our game. You were much more relaxed and just seemed to be out there enjoying playing rather than stressed to make a score.

Great round Rick! Sometimes all you need is a course you know, a good buddy and some relaxing golf. I was super excited to see Matt on today too! I've never had an eagle myself and Matt just goes back to back! One of the best ones yet guys!

I’ve studied the biomechanics of the golf swing in the never-ending quest to improve mine and it is helpful to watch an entire round by golfers of your skill level because it is easier to see how minor differences swing-to-swing affect ball flight. What I spotted in your swing affecting your ball flight is a quite a bit of variation in the how you release your back foot in the downswing and finish which had an effect on how much draw you put on the ball, the tendency being too much due to to too much of a delay in releasing the back foot to free the hip to turn the rest of the way to target. The delay causes the club force to pull to the right then whip to the left as it pulls the trail arm straight, the cause and effect which produces too much right-to-left spin flight on golf ball resulting in a miss to the left of the intended target. Your first two shots on the 15th hole were the straightest you hit in the round compare the action of releasing the back foot in those two swings with others and you should see what is causing the variation in shot shape at tendency to put more draw spin than planned on the ball. Watch videos of Ben Hogan’s swing paying close attention to how he released his back foot in the downswing. It is the reason for his legendary accuracy and tendency to miss with a hook when his timing was off.

Great seeing Matt Fryer hanging out on Break 75. Need to see more Matt, Andy, and Peter over here (or on their channels...I'm subscribed to all of them). You guys really have great chemistry when you're hanging out playing golf together.
