As someone whos new to this game, I get intimidated and honestly overwhelmed watching EXPERTO PRO LEVEL gameplays because there's so much to do and so much people already know that I fell just like im not "playing the game right", so watching your gameplay was actually really comfortable :) made the idea of keeping up with SV less jarring to me.
@moeshrooms3857 ай бұрын
The game can be pretty overwhelming if you get too stuck in ur head about it, but it is the ultimate cozy game once you learn to take it at ur own pace imo. Also I HIGHLY recommend watching TheAmandaFiles’ play through if you haven’t already. She is so hilarious and was also very unfamiliar with the game when starting :>

@@moeshrooms385 I've played for years in the beginning of the game's existence. And was really hardcore into it. Then I just lost interest for a while and hadn't even played or seen anything about the 1.5 update until right before 1.6 came out. I didn't know anything about a complete new island. So having that, plus the 1.6 content made it really overwhelming to me. Now, after watching many, many, many gameplays and playing again myself, I feel a little more in touch again. And I know that not everything is available from the beginning. There is so, so much to do. But the build up in the game is very gradual. You don't start with everything unlocked and just starting day by day will get you to a comfortable point. There is no right or wrong way to play the game. It's an amazing game once you really know what all the possibilities are. And the community is really great, I feel.

i was used to watching super experts play too so when i started playing recently at the beginning i felt like i wasnt getting anywhere fast enough. eventually i reminded myself that this isn't a race and the game is better enjoyed (by me) if i took my time and let myself make mistakes. with that said, you are right. watching videos of people just playing it normally helps the game feel less intimidating 😅

Idk if anyone in the comments has let you know but blue grass doubles your friendship with animals, it will also produce more hay
@angelicbstrd7 ай бұрын
here's some wisdom from me, a person who's been hyperfixating on stardew for several weeks: - opening the little hatch on your chicken coop lets your chickens outside and they actually get more hearts from eating grass rather than hay. hay is better to stock up for winter, so let grass grow around the coop for chickens otherwise. also make sure all your chickens are inside before closing the coop for the night, wild animals can hurt them if they're locked out. this affects their heart level with you. - if you wanna speedrun the mines you can grind for stone and make a bunch of staircases so you don't have to hunt for the ladders. i think 99 stone makes one staircase but you can grind stone pretty fast by just going to an elevator floor (5, 15, 25, floors with fives are better so you don't waste time running through rooms.), clearing rocks on that floor, and then taking the elevator back to 0 to reset the floor. then you can just go back and forth until you have enough stone. - use the watering can on your pet bowl and pet your animals once a day if you can. there's a tab that shows your heart level with your animals and if you've pet them for the day. livestock produce higher quality items if their hearts are maxed and your pet can give you items if you max their hearts (at least the cat does, they can bring you fish). maxing your pet (in this case your dog) affection also unlocks the ability to adopt more animals as of 1.6 so you can adopt multiple dogs, cats, and turtles (though they're expensive) - luck is RNG based but kind of important specifically if you're trying to grind specific resources. it affects stuff like mob spawning and i believe item drops as well. again, not an expert on that. you can eat some dishes to increase your luck. - there's a machine in willy's shop that lets you change your fishing pole's bobber. as your fishing level increases, you get more options. apologies for the super long comment but hopefully you (or someone else) can use this info while playing! and remember, enjoy the game however is most fun for you; don't stress about min-maxxing or rushing to finish things, just enjoy the silly farm game :)

and since I'm already rambling, here's some more useful info: - there's now a star counter on the bulletin boards. if you get three stars from doing three consecutive "help wanted" jobs, you can get a prize ticket to renew in Mayor Lewis' house for various items. you can unlock new books that give you buffs, food/gifting items, seeds/saplings and some furniture i believe. - the upgraded hoe and watering can allow you to till and water multiple tiles at a time if you hold down the button/key (i play with a controller so it might be different on keyboard and mouse controls.) - trees need to have about a 3x3 tile clearance around them in order to grow. i like to mark out the tiles with the hoe so i can plan before planting. tapping trees is also good to get on early and the byproducts can be good for passive income as well as being used for crafting and bundles. you can get specific tree fertilizer to boost tree growth but it doesn't work on fruit trees. - fruit trees are useful for cooking, making jam/wine and filling out a few bundles as well as gifting. the saplings individually are a bit expensive so maybe save up some disposable income before buying them. they also (i think) can grow year-round if you put them in the greenhouse later, rather than only bearing fruit in specific seasons. - there's a machine you can get that duplicates seeds. super useful for a bit later in the game if you have rare/expensive crop seeds. - ideally, try to make friends with Pam and Clint somewhat early in the game. they'll occasionally send you useful stuff like battery packs and metal bars. - after you fully finish the community center, you can build a movie theater in the old joja mart. this lets you increase friendship more by seeing a movie with an npc and getting snacks that they like. you can also fund an actual house for Penny and Pam and clear shortcuts around Pelican Town for a fee. - there's now a giant tree near Marnie's ranch (left of the pathway up to your farm) and you can help a raccoon family move in. gives you a similar bundle mechanic to the community center, usually with some random stuff like foraging items or trash. you unlock stuff for trading with the raccoons after a certain point. - new crop seeds can show up when you till dirt with the hoe, and generally all of them are pretty good to grow and sell. powdermelons are one of these crops and they're (i think) the only crop you can grow in winter, so they're good to collect. - you can put hats on your pets now. it's wonderful. you can also feed your horse a carrot. - mods. look into 'em. there's retextures, alternative portraits for NPCs, all kinds of quality of life mods, there's even expansion mods that add new areas with NPCs and quests. also there's a polyamory mod so you don't have to choose just one spouse. I'm definitely open to sharing more tips here (whether for AngryCoconut or other viewers) and I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being condescending or explaining obvious mechanics/things you already know about. As of writing this I haven't seen any prior videos of you playing Stardew, so I'm not sure how knowledgeable you are of the game but wanted to share some things that might be helpful :) edit: deleted my tips about the mushroom/bat cave and tool upgrading, i watched further in the video and he knows about those things lol

as someone who also switched from console to pc (specifically for the update in my case), mining has suddenly become so much more difficult. i need to get used to using a mouse when playing... On the other hand, fishing is definitely the easiest skill to upgrade, even if i'm not the best at it.

I switched for the same reasons and I’ve actually grown to prefer the mouse now! I feel like I have so much more control now and move even faster than before. This is all to say that it does get easier with time haha, but like Neptule said above you can always just connect a controller if it’s too much of a struggle

Some tips! You can turn on a setting that has a box where your tool will hit If you pass out rather than die you don't lose items, just 10% of your money (so it's not terrible to pass out) You can check the weather to see if it will rain the next day, that way you'll know when you can upgrade your watering can The mod UI Info Suite tells you about luck, the weather, whether you need to donate something to Gunther or need it for a bundle, etc You can use the scroll on the mouse to switch tools

I think the rarity of geode items are directly influenced by your luck that day, so if you want common items like clay, i'd suggest going on an unlucky day. Also! Keep an eye out for bubbles in the water, as those are really good fishing spots, fish bite waaay quicker there and sometimes they last several in-game hours, so you can make a lot of money!
@littlekawaiidragon7 ай бұрын
i’m pretty sure geodes are unrelated to daily luck and entirely dependent on the game seed which is how stardew predictor can guess geode drops
