I’ve not only done this, I’ve read the webcomic just 5 or so times and I’ve already memorized every plot arc and constantly think about One Punch Man in general. I purchased the first season and I’m collecting the physical manga. I just wish I could buy physical copies of the webcomic because I would love to be able to read it when the WiFi is down.

OPM and MHA came just a year within each other. it was during the hype era of superhero movies led by the MCU during 2010-2016 extending up to 2018 Endgame. those were good times. One Punch Man made by Studio Madhouse released in 2015 meanwhile MHA iirc released in 2016, hence the similarities, even in the OST can be seen. :)

One Punch Man is a masterwork, really, not exaggerating. You see, when you write the perfect hero, invincible, it's really hard to build a story around, cause whatever happens, the ending is already written, that's why all the superheroes have a flaw, their kryptonite and or their Lois Lane, a weak point that can be exploited to build a challenge and a story. Saitama has literally no weak point, none at all, he cannot be beaten by any means, the viewer is very much aware it's so. Yet One has been able to build on this a surprisingly intriguing story. I think Marvel's screenwriters should all watch this first series a lot of times.

It’s funny, cause you wonder how a show where the protagonist literally can defeat all monsters with a real single punch, can be anywhere near compelling. But it really starts to delve into the melancholy and depression of finding meaning in a world where you stand at the top. Where nothing can hurt you, phase you, or beat you.

Important Fact: The Director of Season One called in a bunch of favors from a bunch of the absolute best artists, drawers, and animators that Japan has to offer.....and just off of his reputation and a chance to work with him, they came. So S1 is an absolute piece of art in the anime world. The amount of skill and love that went into it was far more then anyone on the project got paid for. It will stand as a pillar of anime and animation for decades to come......it is the milestone, the standard, the mark that all other anime's will be compared against to determine quality. Im not even kidding. You can look it up. The director is like the Steven Spielberg of the anime world...... people take pay cuts just to work with him.

It's a funny show but there's something deeper beneath the surface. Saitama is a very good representation of somebody with functional depression. He's very flat in his affect and demeanor because of anhedonia.

One of the best little details I learned about this show is that the first monster that saitama kills, Vaccine Man, could’ve been the one of the strongest monsters in the entire series. We can’t know for sure because he dies before he does anything. If you were to watch the show knowing that, you would never wonder if saitama might lose, but of course you wouldn’t know that as a new viewer. The same goes for many other characters in the show. Geuryanshoop could have stronger psychic powers than tatsumaki, but we don’t know because he just dies.

Something that was brilliant about this episode is how they made it obvious, to those who already watched the whole thing, that that fight was all a dream. That is not how Saitama fights at all. He's not a trained fighter, he's just an unstoppable force and immovable object wrapped up into one.

I love a OPM reaction series. This show gets crazy (even crazier in the manga but we won't see it until S3 and S4, probably). The thing about the series is that Episode 1 is nuts, but the tone and storytelling of the show actually begins with Episode 2. On a side note, I'm still hopeful that you'll start One Piece soon.
