Congrats on getting to this point in the story. Love the sfx, especially the squid steps XD I will note that you will be made to play with people in Duty Finder on some parts of the story, because as you said it's an MMO, but trust me when I say this isn't Overwatch and normal/MSQ content is rarely touched by the tryhards after their first run of stuff unless it gives Best in Slot (BiS) gear, which is usually the first few weeks of an expansion that you won't need to worry about reaching for another two years minimum. Even if you don't good, don't worry Baguette. You have the power of anime and healing on your side. If your tank don't listen then he'll know your little healer wrath. ;( But on a serious note, usually letting folks know at the start generally keeps you understandably out of harms way. Even when they rush, you won't have to worry if you can't keep up. They'll pull back or give tips! You're doing great from what I see though!​@@baguette...

@@baguette... You have a whole Crystal Tower raid to do, required for the MSQ. I recommend doing Coil of Bahamut for lore but I'd rather you pace yourself where you're comfortable and come back to it when you feel confident. The raid content is always fun to try for the story alone, and people love helping sprouts out. You're learning and that's what makes it a blast! You'll be a galaxy brain in no time!

6:30 Don't worry, we all grow attached to our warriors of light! Congrats on beating ARR! I'll second someone else's recommendation to work through the Coils of Bahamut before Heavensward, and there's no shame of doing so in an unsync party. Second, I've been there with the letdown anxiety of group content! But not only are players generally understanding, they have a gameplay incentive to work with newcomers, so some of that pressure has been lessened.

Nice vid. I also just beat ARR a couple days ago. The content between a realm reborn and heavens ward is really slow so don't be afraid to get sidetracked. When it comes to duty finder I also get nervous but the people are really nice. if you are really nervous just tell the people its your first time and they will typically take it slow. Finally I saw that you unlocked glamour, one of the best ways to get Glamour Prism and Glamour Dispeller is through your grand company. Best of luck on your adventures.

Congratulations on your success in Operation Archon! Now, it's time to face the notorious ARR patch purgatory. Endure knowing it is setting up important things for the future, and greater fun awaits beyond it. I wholeheartedly recommend finding someone to help you through the Coils of Bahamut raid series for its story, even if you end up opting to breeze through it without level sync. And ain't no shame in running the dungeons with NPC support! I've been playing on and off since ARR dropped, and ever since they added the NPC option I've done my first run of a new dungeon always with them. Less peer pressure means you can take the time you need to figure out the fights!

As someone who's been playing semi-regularly since 2019, my advice to you, Mx. Healer, is... Play at your pace! The story of the game is always there for you, so if you ever feel like another game is pulling you for a little while, don't feel bad! Even once you reach the point where you'll need to play with other players, there's never really a point where you'll "miss out" on being able to do content. Even the more quiet stuff (like Binding Coils, which others have thankfully let you know about) can be done given a long enough queue timer (Duty Roulette makes sure that pretty much nobody goes without a party when they need one for the story, even if it sometimes takes twenty minutes for more obscure duties). And, about playing with other players - trust me, I get it. I started playing earnestly when Shadowbringers released, which was way before NPC supports were available for early game. And I started as a tank, so I was reasonably worried about my performance with others as well. But as long as you lead any instance with something letting others know that you're new, most people will be very willing to accommodate. I won't say "never" because there's always gonna be that dude somewhere, but you can ask tanks to go slow while you learn your comforts, and asking for tips when you don't understand a fight is encouraged! If anybody is continuously rude to you, there's always the option to blacklist them; no shame in that. As an aside, don't feel bad if your group wipes (even the NPCs); there's pretty much no penalty for wiping other than, like, a ten second walk back and some gear durability loss. Trial and error is part of the process. And finally, don't forget to explore! There's lots of fun/funny side content to do if you're into that sorta thing. The Gold Saucer is one of the obvious mentions, full of silly minigames and passtimes if you wanna play but aren't feeling the story at the moment. Sidequests aren't great EXP givers, but plenty have interesting storylines and lore, and sometimes reward you with emotes and items like minions or mounts! Or dye! Trust me, you'll want dye if you wanna experiment with glamour.
