I am cleaning up on earning points on the gold! We have three trips planned so the platty has been active as well. Hell, even my green card has been coming to the party! I really like being done with spend requirements because I really get to let our organic spend drive up the points.

You want a UBBAR if you’re trying to pay for travel not available in a Chase Portal or things that are overpriced in Chase portal. For me. Disney Cruise Line - then buy it discounted at Costco. If you want general travel. Stick with CSR for added flexibility.

I’m jealous (as if I don’t have any points…I’m a recovering point hoarder, please give me grace 😂)…nice hearing about your come up from a hostels to top dog hotels!!! Here's a tip for Venice, take a water taxi to an island called Morano. It's where all the glass blowers are, there's so many fewer tourists there and even more canals than in Venice.

Good idea. Also, is it worth staying on that island? I found a Hyatt for 9k per night, otherwise everything else is taken for Hyatt and would end up booking with cash. Only like 2 nights

@@jakemercure if you can find a good deal then go for it, otherwise I’d book something on the mainland, it’ll be a lot cheaper. There’s a lot of busses you can take back and forth too so getting to the island isn’t that big of a hassle. Venice is small though, you can see it in a day honestly. There’s one or two big canals and the rest of the city is tiny little alleyways and things like that. It’s kind of turned into a big tourist island not going to lie, so I highly suggest checking out some of the other islands if you get bored. There’s a lot more Italians on them and you’ll get a bit more of an authentic experience that way too! You’ll have fun though it’s a beautiful area, I miss studying in Italy a ton.

Seconded on Morano, me and my wife stayed at a hotel on Morano for our honeymoon and it was gorgeous. Away from the tourists and we did a glass-blowing making class. It was so cool! Burano is another island right next to Morano that features cool looking colored houses and they've got these cookies called Venetian Butter Cookies TO DIE FOR.

Enjoy your flight on the Emirates A380! We did that flight in the other direction (MXP-JFK) last year. We had business class flights booked, but we were able to upgrade to first class at the airport after checking in. I'd recommend it if you can spare the points. When we did it the cost for the upgrade was 30k points each, but it might be higher now. Taking a shower during the flight was a very cool experience!
