I recognized myself at the piano, I also do too much action. Because you're so detailed and it sounds so nice, but you can't see the big picture anymore. But your song sounds very beautiful, better than I ever could!

It’s so powerful to show your students the power of simplifying the notes in the chords and how it makes more space for the vocal, while retaining the emotional feeling. Nicely done.

Trance and progressive house are my favorite genre, and this track really impressed me, it delivers an emotionally charged atmosphere with a modern, cinematic edge. It has a great blend of uplifting elements and gives off some serious Gareth Emery vibes. Fantastic work, Alex, and props to your student for creating something special

5:28 Intervals are the distances between the notes. Two-note chord is a dyad/diad chord (as opposed to three-note triad).

Some things I noticed about how you worked and some easier ways to do them: 1. In Ableton, when you're in the melody page thing and you're trying to move a melody up an octave, (like at 5:14,) you can select the notes you want to move up and use the keyboard shortcut "shift+up" to move the notes up an octave without having to manually. 2. When you want to create an area of silence in your project, (like at 9:13,) you can select where you want your moment of silence, then use the keyboard shortcut "ctrl+i" and it moves all the tracks forward on it's own. I just found these alternatives much easier and quicker than doing them manually, and I didn't know about them until recently, and I thought they could maybe help some people. :)

You should try creative intent Tantrum distortion plugin, it's absolutely insane. It's has so many sounds, great for 808s, synths whatever. Best part is it's free, I can't use any other distortion now.

Maybe you've covered this topic before, but I really love how you manage the energy of the track. I tend to let things go out of control way too fast. Too much distortion, too many chord inversions and high pitched voicings. You are very skilled at letting the track progress slowly, with "class" if that makes sense. Good job!

This is the kind of stuff that is missing from most music production courses. Describing what is needed and why. Really good info and the track sounded great, even though I'm not much of a tech house guy.
