I spent hours throwing and perfecting my largest thrown piece of pottery, then I waited 24 hours and I carefully carved and trimmed it! After drying for 3 weeks I fired it and then I spent hours designing, running thru ideas, firing test tiles, and planning. Now I’m ready to paint glaze and decorate my huge piece. It took me 6 hours to be completely happy and I dried it for 3 days then fired it for 27 hours. I took my beautiful vase out of the kiln and let it cool before displaying it in my studio. Then it happened 😶 it was frickin windy in Scotland and my main studio door slammed hard… very hard… I heard the loudest sound! The sound of my heart breaking! My beautiful vase was smashed in many pieces on the floor. I too swept it up and hid it in my shed for 6 months before I was brave enough to take it out and I kintsugi’d the heck out of it. It’s still not a beautiful as your splashy thing 🤩 but I love it now 💫🎨💜

Honestly, I have a lot of respect for you. After working on a project for hundreds of hours, only to have it break when you've finally finished it, and still having the courage to bring it back out and try to fix it? Incredible, even if it took a few months! Contrary to the way this was edited, that is a very impressive feat, and I think that deserves to be acknowledged.

I do abstract art and if people see a mistake I just go “oh the represents the pressure of society that made the perfection of this painting imperfect, which is the point” and people are like “oh yeah” I just slap colors on canvas and blend until I have a ton of pretty colors
