This is the exact same mobo/pcb setup as the pocketS, tempted to try this on mine as I've had inconsistent performance since I got it

Ironically most pocket s benchmarks I’ve seen were better than a lot of the EVOs. The pocket s does get way hotter to the touch though I think the heat finds its ways other places. The EVO is much cooler to the touch regardless. I’m also curious if my pocket DMG could get better performance.

Kinda glad I canceled my evo pre-order. Thanks for pointing out the issues, hopefully ayaneo takes care of ppl but sounds like they're gonna sweep it under the rug and say it's within "variance". Got an odin 2 portal on order... 🤞

super mad I didn't cancel mine... i love my Odin 2. I wanted these sticks though. The sticks on the EVO are legit incredible. The on board controller is as good as a console controller. The portal is going to have those shitty sticks they had on the odin 2. The EVO's are full size true analog sticks and they are very good. super accurate with amazing fine aim control.

@mwitters1 yeah that's my only gripe with the portal (the sticks). From AYN's comments on discord it was physical limitation of the slimmer shell. Honestly I'd have preferred a thicker device and bigger sticks... Especially since they are adding a grip case now anyways.

I enjoy the DMG yeah. It doesn’t get super high performance numbers but it’s already more power than I need in a vertical that size.

@@bassderekthanks I got 3979 for best Loop score and 3451 for lowest loop score at 86.7% stability for max performance/fan settings. I got the retro power edition. So I’ll need to contact them asking for a fix, right? 😢

I'm so pissed... 3540 for the first loop, 2920-2940 for 2-20 loop... god I'm mad. Mine must be BARELY on there. Thats with everything on max and fans set to max.

Maaaan thanks for this summary, exactly why I cancelled this damn device... looks great probably feels great but y700 for the win, tablets just handle heat better and the telescopic controllers are getting so good these days. Hope I don't regret it but probably not.

The new y700 seems like a downgrade . No headphone jack or sd card slot . I have the 8gen1+ version and although it’s not as performant as the Odin 2 , for ps2 and below and streaming it’s miles ahead thanks to the beautiful 8.8 inch screen

I have had an Odin 2 and while I loved it the sticks killed it for me because I really wanted to stream and they just weren’t accurate as full sized sticks would be. If the portal had full sized sticks I’d genuinely sell my steam deck and just use moonlight from my PC. I really want the EVO but the price is just so high
