If you go for a 3 barrels bluff then show pocket 4’s to win the pot then the next time when you do virtually the same thing you should have the effected nuts. Otherwise your opponent will call you down, even light, and that’s what happens with the QJ hand after.

When you had the pp 10's, you didn't need to go all-in on the turn. Just smooth call. He suspected you to have a draw, not a set. If the potential flush or straight doesn't get there, he's putting you all-in, and you would have net $500 more. When you go all-in with that non-connecting 4 showing, he puts you on a set, and he's not going to call that. The way he's playing the hand, he doesn't have AK or AK, he's got AA, KK, or QQ, so you don't need to worry about a straight or a flush draw from him. If he had JJ, he'd have called, and you'd have lost anyway. All you needed at the river is to not see a A, K, or Q.
