I love how fast Grian went from "this stupid game" and "I'm never coming back" to "I take it all back, I appreciate you Scott and I will be back for the next one" once he found out he won. It gave me flashbacks to his 1.20 stream where he was berating chat for giving him wrong instructions ("I need silk touch for cobwebs, I'm never trusting you guys again") only for chat to be right ("I would like to apologize, I will never doubt you guys again")

Etho explained it perfectly. You can use a comparator to determine when the right number of items is reached. That's how storage rooms function. It makes perfect sense that they had just missed the string on that side that also needed to go in. It's actually a poorly made part of the puzzle, since that exact sorting system can be used to *only* take a white wool.

The amount of 'if they're clever' vs 'if they're stupid' when it's actually just 'do they guess the answer which was intuitive to scott despite having no distinction or indicators' was impressive :P (I personally hate odd one out questions, it's like egg: only passive (non murder) drop, bone: only hostile mob drop, ink: only non-land drop. I can't figure out a way to distinguish leather and rabbit hide though, but I'm sure there's *something*. Something to do with barterable/tradable?) The fact that everyone put string in was very funny, Scott somehow thinking that wouldn't be the default deduction boggles me XD. At least if you'd had a filter underneath it wouldn't have accepted them!

The problem with 'which is not like the other' questions: is that most of those questions could have a case made for all objects: Rabbit (I think thats the only that only has 1 crafting use since I think it is only used for making leather) Leather (can be made into armor directly) Ink sacs (can be made into a dye directly (i think bones need to be meal first) Bone (hostile drop {used in vid} Egg( only throwable + only can be crafted into something edible) I am mostly sure all of that is right

I think that the "different from the others" part is especially difficult since you can get all the items except the egg from killing a mob, and by killing a fish you could get a bone, so its not specific to a hostile mob.

I like how in the odd one out puzzle every item could be the odd one out. Rabbit Hide was added in 1.8 while the rest were 1.2 or earlier. Leather is dropped from the most mobs compared to the other items and can be crafted from one other item from the group (rabbit hide) Ink Sac is dropped from a water based mob and not a land based mob. Bone is only dropped from hostile mobs, no passive mobs (Scott’s original reasoning of it being the only item of the group that can drop from a hostile mob is wrong due to the Hoglin being a hostile mob and being able to drop leather.) Egg is the only item that can be dropped from a mob without killing the mob.

Inspired by other comments, this is cannon: Grian is too chaotic and is now immune to trolling and its just a regular escape room for him. Etho didn't win due to him spending 4 straight minutes putting string in the dispenser whenever Scott gives him some Impulse thought everything out for too long Jimmy was jimmy Gem didn't have a pvp level to complete, nor etho heads to parkour on.
