American here too. Regarding playoffs: I feel like they are only needed when you don’t play everyone in regular season. In premiere league, for example, you face every team for a home-away series so a playoff isn’t necessary. That’s just my opinion, what’s everyone else’s take?

The belgium one is the same but at the end its just top 6 play eachother for champions league 2nd place goes to ucl play offs and 3-4 goes to europa league then 7-12 winner goes to europa league play-offs and then 13-16 the last 2 get rellegated. hope this helps you to understand for belgium :)
