@@ninjabiohazard5 I understand your point, but man Lost Planet was abandoned after 2, not 3. It was outsourced to a western studio that made one more game and closed right after. Within roughly the same timespan, LP2 sold 1-1.5 million copies (which is honestly insane still), but RE5 sold a whopping, insane 4-5M copies. Dead Rising 2 sold surprisingly 'low' as well and... what a surprise... look at how hard DR3 was forced to change just to flop even harder. Hell, even RE6 got fucked with, even with the enormous success of RE5. Pricks in suits, man. Capcom's done way better since, but all they did was murder their golden geese back then.

@@TheOneMagpie Honestly It is weird how Dead Rising 2 didn't sell well but makes since because RE5 was released in 2009 and Lost planet in 2010 and both had amazing demos that could be played online. I wouldn't even say they Butchered their series back then. yeah, they had their issues, but I wouldn't even call them bad games. RE6 was too ambitious, and it shows making it in my opinion just overwhelming and I think DR3 flopped because they decided to only release it on Xbox One. I guess they are doing better now as a company. I feel like they are afraid to take risk now and rely too much on old IPs.

You should play the train-gun boss level with them. The whole process of loading, charging, aiming, and firing the massive cannon is genuinely chaotic and fun with a squad of buddies.

Interesting thing about that misson i learned while replaying the whole game cause of this vid. Mouse and keyboard controls break the intended way to use the cannon. I've only ever played this game solo cause I didn't have any friends when the game came out and now I do but I don't have any that are willing to go through the process of getting past the GFWL shit. Anyway when I was playing the train part u remember it being a bitch to do solo because of how slow the cannon turns when you dont have human allies to hit the 90 degree turn switches but as it turns out when playing the game with a mouse and your dpi high you can whip the giant gun way way faster around then I think the devs intended making the whole boss fight easy as hell. EDIT: ok so I just replayed the section again on hard this time and I don't know if I was experiencing a glitch before but if not I think for normal and easy they make the railway gun able to turn faster then it does on hard cause this last time on hard went more like how I remembered it.

Kinda upset you didn't try the ultimate weapon by transforming the shield and having your friends support it to fire. It's probably one of the cooler features of LS2, well that and the mechs that can combine

On the Xbox one you can’t use the ultimate abilities with support weapons since pressing the right button combo (start and back) will instead pull up the 360 Xbox menu. Also no way to change those two buttons in particular.

This game in particular had such a level of hidden depth, and the secret alternate pathways and unlockables were great. I miss the element of discovery and mystery when you and your teammates split up and rejoin.

Love this game a ton. I remeber going back with my friends and playing through the story ovwr and over with our own charactets and weapons. My favorite is fighting the Cat G on the train and having to manage and load the weapon. Cooling it down, shooting projectiles out the air. Great video Kev!

Oh, you guys should have gone further and did the next chapter. Us Lost Planet fans call it the coolest team ever and best chapter with those guys. And yeah, whoever gets the final monster kill gets the chapter clear. The way to tell is who got the picture in their background at the end. Kev, you got it the first time on the first chapter, so that's why it worked for you for a moment. And then the others as it went on. Also, Games for Windows Live is now defunt and mostly working off a peer to peer system. So if you get lag or anything, blame it more so on your internet. Can't blame servers anymore. So its almost best to play this whole thing through on your own and then coop it. But if you don't want to be spoiled, can replay the last chapter boss over and over and let each of you get the final kill shot.

Lost Planet 2 was my favorite game as a kid, i recently played Returnal and i have to say that game is like this game's spiritual successor, at least to me. I fell in love with it as i did with Lost Planet. If you love Lost Planet, i recommend trying Returnal, very different, but oddly familiar feeling.

I've just been streaming this today. Capcom's most underrated Title for sure. Everyone had different experiences but LP2 for me, just downloaded and booted up no issue at all. In a 12 hour period of playing with Friends and randoms, only ONE crash which was shocking with all the people saying how bad it ran and was unplayable. LP2 set the ground for emotes in Revelations 2 Raid Mode which is yet again, underrated as fuck. I hope Crapcom remaster this game and do another Raid mode game. Best CO-OP experiences ever and suggest anyone and everyone to try them. Anyhow, great video again Kev. Been binging your vids so much recently. Thank you for the content!

@@sonicxd8899 For Universe at War, we use our Xbox/Microsoft accounts and log into GFWL with those, I'm not sure about all the backend stuff but we have it reduced to essentially a few downloads that take a few minutes to set up, etc., I'm not sure if anyone has done the same for LP2, Stormrise, etc., yet.

Lost Planet and Lost Planet 2 are such great gem of games! I really wish Capcom stuck to this formula and just tweaked/improved some of the issues/weaker aspects.....we could've had this become a second Monster Hunter like franchise, where wed get new entries with a plethora of new giant Akrid Monsters, classes/weapons and mech suits and keep that co-op functionality....instead they murdered the franchise with Lost Planet 3...ugh....

I was playing it 8 hours a day, completed the game on Extreme mode and unlocked everything. Cool tips: - You can Merge two machines into one in multiplayer, as it was done by the boss on space station (also you can find and do it on 4-1 (Get the upper body), 4-2 (Get the lower body) - Fully charged shot from the energy rifle would throw the pilot our from the machine - On the underwater level, with submarine boss - there are transformer on the bottom of the level (one of the columns around).

Silver-lining of the replayed chapters: you get more of those Credit Boxes (that can also be grabbed via grappling hook), and those credits are used for unlocks. There are a lot of interesting weapon unlocks, and for context: one is a fuckin shuriken disc, packing the power to instakill a person, yourself included. There's also some hidden features on a few mechs, and the "Support Weapons" all have a default supermove, but they can use batshit insane supermoves when other players join in with it by standing near and using the "Shout" emote. Support Weapons' supermoves needs 2000 T-ENG from anyone involved. More people, more potency and size. For the Shield, if enough people have Gunswords/ plasma gun II, it changes it's effect. For the V-Device, if one supporting person has a Heavy weapon, it changes it's effect. Maybe you four can get to enjoy smiting foes with the power of god and anime in a cannon.
