My wife cheated on me. It was a ONS, but I caught her. I remained married for another 5-6 years because the kids were too young to pick who to live with. Not sure if the story is real or fictitious but people who cheat have an inherent flaw the need to cheat stems from personal problems that could be poor self-esteem or a sense of entitlement regardless of the excuse the cheater decides at the affair is more important than the marriage and in secret they're willing to destroy their marriage violate their vows. Cheaters cheat because the need never goes away they want to cheat they don't care about their spouse they care only for themselves. Cheating in secret is how they truly view their marriage their vows and their spouse once exposed they will say and do anything to try to save themselves and avoid the consequences and repercussions of what they have done. In order to cheat someone must relinquish love and respect and integrity they must convince themselves self then what they need is more important than what they have in their marriage and they are willing to jeopardize everything. Not sorry and without love they make a choice to cheat every single time.

Some people like to reduce reuse and recycle, problem is if you do that too much you yourself start resembling garbage and that dude had a garbage attitude. The wife was garbage for cheating and the husband was garbage for getting stupid over the prank. Going scorched earth for that prank is dumb. I could see outing her to the kids as he did and divorcing her but trying to defame her give me a break. He took her back after the affair and yet he clearly held it over her head for him to go scorched earth immediately, and she no doubt felt it the entire time, got resentful over time and did the dumb prank. I dont think she wanted him dead,.. she wanted payback for all the years of him continually holding the affair over her head and she didnt feel she had a voice to do so up front because she is weak. And she knew it,.. as evidenced by her using an email she knew he would find, as he must always have been checking since the affair. Op is an absolute AH and the wife is better off without him and op will still probably wear his virtue signaling resentment for life, which i guarantee he will force onto the shoulders of any future woman,.. its just “him being paranoid rightfully” because of his hurt blah blah blah. He wont heal, because he wont let himself because to heal you have to forgive yourself being in that situation and he cant forgive himself because he is a control freak whose wife cheated on him despite being afraid of him and others knowing. Which is why he took her back. It’s the ultimate cheat code fail safe button for a control freak.
