Coming from future videos, like the slew of car bumpers and wooden pallets, it's cool to see where you came from, just a few weeks before, with the ridiculously tiny trailer and the old truck. Sheesh, you are making good business decisions in the future Andrei, you are growing!

When you have the 4 foot trailer, start loading the trailer with the doors open from the rear.Then you'll be able to get a lot of clearance
@JackofHaulTrades6 ай бұрын
I do that when I'm loading hevey logs!

Awesome video! How did you go about pricing a large job like this?
@JackofHaulTrades6 ай бұрын
Thanks man! I had to study my market well, and find out what everything costs, etc... now I'm very good at estimating jobs by just looking at them in person. It's hard to explain over text, but every market is different you need to know your expenses. You also need to know what the competition is charging in your area, and you can base your prices somewhere around them

Have you considered first loading the trailer from the rear... Opening the doors and driving in to dump up front... You should be able to compress down all the materials with the grapple or bucket to fit more possibly ....
@JackofHaulTrades6 ай бұрын
Yessir I have. My ramps are too steep on this trailer, but I just got a new one with longer ramps, and it's 16ft long so I will be able to do that with the new trailer!

If your hauling scrap on a regular basis... you should get a portable oxy/acetylene cutting torch and learn how to use it safely, it will help you break down massive items into manageable condensed loads. This will reduce your trips which will maximize your profits.
@JackofHaulTrades6 ай бұрын
Yessir, great tip! I need to get myself one, but I'll hold off for now. I don't deal with metal as often as I'd like to. Hopefully, that will change someday! I know there is money to be made in scrapping. But it just needs to be done on a high scale

2:05 that big metal chunk is the frame of a hydraulic press, missing the hydraulic cylinder and hoses. like a 50 ton one, nice if someone needs it

Some of them pallets on the property can be recycled to a pallet builder and they pay up to $3.50 sometimes more

Any old cars or any parts for an old car you could sell for decent money
@JackofHaulTrades6 ай бұрын
The problem is that you have to have a place to store it, so it dosen't make sense to go through all the hassle if it's only a few bucks but if it's something expensive it's definitely worth looking into!

You need to learn HOW to use a cutting torch ! You also need a tilting flat bed trailer with a 12,000 electric winch , 24 feet long ! With the first 8 feet with a non tilting flat bed front portion so you can load your skid steer from the side !
