Love this game!! Fun fact: Savage Reign and Kizuna Encounter takes place in the not too distant future in South Town (yes...the same South Town in Fatal Fury and other games). Also, Kim Sue Il is actually a descendent of Kim Kaphwan if it wasn't obvious haha.

There is even TAG COMBOS and clashes, alpha counters and a lot of super fun stuff. Also, check the select character screen arrange music (it's amazing). PD: too bad the clown is top tier. Hated that character

In 2007, SNK was put out a bunch of compilation titles for the PS2, like Fatal Fury Battle Archives 1 & 2, King of Fighters Orochi Saga (94-98), Art of Fighting Anthology, World Heroes Anthology, Samurai Shodown Anthology. Look up Neo Geo Online Collection for more info. One title that originally was Japan-exclusive was Fu'un Super Combo, which contains both Savage Reign & Kizuna Encounter. Well Fu'un Super Combo got ported to PS4 in the US! It costs $15 but once in awhile goes on sale for $4. So you can get the game in this video on PS4

Forward +A+B is a dash with invincible frames on startup. It's like your forward dash but it has recovery frames that leave you open. Think of it like Akuma's Teleport. It's a good way to get out of the corner or to move in to do a combo on recovery (unless you get grabbed or hit during recovery frames). You can also do overheard attacks that connect into a super. And as for chain combos, you can do them on jump in and also on crouch combos. Great game. 😎

The boomerang guy and Jyazu (the final final boss) are secret characters in KOF XI, a game that I'm not sure I'd call a good KOF but is definitely an amazing fighting game.

Actually Kizuna Encounter was beaten by X-Men vs SF by some days. They were out in the same month of 1996 if I'm not mistaken. Though it uses a different system and more tricky or gimmicky compared to XvSF. Anyways those two were truly the innovators of tag team fgs.

Honestly I wish more games used a similar tag system as Kizuna, i mean showing the teammate on the screen. One game that I felt that took over that idea and improved it was Power Instinct 3 - Groove on Fight. But it seems like the Marvel system was preferred in the industry: the teammates fly over from the corner of the screen. Even SNK gave it up and used the Marvel system in KoF 03 and 11.

I usually play neo geo games at level 8 and train to finish with just one coin, if you train a lot you can do it. I finished this game with all characters at level 8 including facing the secret boss. I challenge justin to finish savage reing at level 8 with 1 coin, and I still give you the tip, choose the woman who fights with a ball. she is the best.

Man, I remember learning about Kizuna Encounter thanks to the Best Friends Play. When Woolie was explaining that tag system with the little zones on the ground I was blown away - to this day I still don't know why nobody else has ripped that off, or why SNK hasn't resurrected the idea for, like, a special tag mode in a KOF or SamSho game. _Or SNK Heroines;_ it would've been a perfect fit there because that game was literally just them screwing around with a bunch of ideas, and it's already a tag fighter! Missed opportunity. SNK's gotta AT LEAST bring Rosa back for some crossover action in another game; she's such a cool looking character! Don't care if it's future South Town in their timeline; that doesn't stop Rock from showing up. They use magic to explain away pachinko characters and sh**, lol. Rosa's getting ignored for no reason.

Maybe it's because King Leo turned out to be more popular than Jazu ever was. Sure Jazu was playable in KoF 11, but overall Leo had more cameo appearances in SNK games and was a boss on NGBC.

Jayzu or jazu(Jaguar) is pain in the ass on level 8, his speed is insane, and damage that he gives off, also the best player to cheat any person with🤣🤤 One thing about this game I enjoy was the infinites from an air/aerial combo to a ground addon combo, Kim vs Gordon is by far the easiest and most effective infinite/death combo you'll get. Then king Leo(sub-boss) also has a infinite/death combo if pulled off properly I also like about this game, the stun combo at the end of the opponents life after ending it off with a small punch/small kick(LP/LK - crouching or standing), (note, opponent must not jump in order for the stun mode to activate)

It's rare and expensive, so is neo turf masters (big tournament golf), another great game. Though kizuna is not on neo cd, turf masters cd is actually the best version of the game. Can make characters and secret Scotland course.
