This is awesome. Thanks for sharing. That one nugget was awesome. I wish you had had more time to explore that area.

Thanks! I’m watching you knock it out too! It’s quite the experience finding gold..not many people understand it! It’s certainly in my blood…

Nice! Im thinking about getting another axiom, between the sensitivity with the small coil and the smooth depth from the dd for potential relic areas. Well done,you always make me wish i was back in Arizona 😂

Thanks! Man, I have not wanted to be back since I got home. Like I just want to turn right around and go back lol. I think the Axiom has a lot to offer both in the gold fields and for deep relics. I have not used my 6000 here at home just because some of my spots have been ruined due to development.

Are you going back to the Garrett axiom? Or from now on just gpx 6000?
@randystreasureadventures Жыл бұрын
Just GPX right now. I got such a good deal on it I just couldn’t pass it up! I’d like to run the Axiom a little more in the future though. I would especially like to do more comparisons between it and the 6000.

Awesome job there’s a lot more gold there need to get back rake those rocks off and work it good it’s loaded there👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I think you’re right! A rake is definitely on the list of tools to take with me when I get back! In retrospect, I wish I would have canceled my flight that day and moved it to the next day, but it would have caused an uproar, lol.

That tone on the prospecting mode is a huge change from what I am use to, Does it get easier to understand when you are gold prospecting? Also have you tried the manticore against the GPX on a spot, to see if the manticore even can have a chance to do the same as the ones just for prospecting? Just curious if I was to go to Colorado to pan for gold, would the Manticore be beneficial at all or would only a GPZ or GPX whichever they are call would work on small nuggets?
@randystreasureadventures Жыл бұрын
I have not taken the Manticore to Arizona yet, although I do want to. Most likely after I get the smaller coil I will take it. The GPZ and GPX machines all sound like that, just a threshold based pulse induction where you listen for a rise in threshold. Now admittedly the 6000 has a setting that you can turn the threshold off, I just don’t hunt that way. From what I understand the Manticore has a good prospecting mode, so I would not hesitate to take it to Colorado. Especially if that was the only machine I had! I think the small coil will end up being key on that machine because with any VLF in mineralized ground you want to try to reduce what the machine sees to better sort out when there is an actual target under the coil. Also because most of the gold found with a metal detector these days is relatively small. It will just come down to experimentation. There are several areas we hunt in Arizona that have such highly mineralized ground that you can’t even run a detector at all! When you hear me referring to hot rocks, those are basically broken chunks of magnetite, ironstone or other types of stone that could even be iron ore, but something with that type of concentration in it, that have migrated down to the washes due to gravity. It might be easier to think of those in terms of having a high metal content, which is why they’re setting off the machine. In the area I call the black waterfalls, the iron stone is so thick that we have found gold nuggets that are black (coated). You have to look for the areas where the iron stone has worn through to see the gold peeking out! on a sidenote, that tells me that the source of gold will be a vein within that iron stone. Unfortunately, that is something that we will have to find visually because the detector will be useless for that search. Maybe I will do a short on that and show it. There are even some areas of exposed bedrock that have a very iron red color to them, and my machine just constantly screams when I go over that stuff. Also, you can have bed rock that does not set off the machine, but it will have what they call an inclusion in it of hot mineralized rock that will set the detector off as well. You can usually see the different coloration in the rock. If it was not for hot rocks and mineralized pockets, you could just wait for a signal on your machine and scoop up either the trash or the gold. Unfortunately, that mineralization is what makes it difficult in the Goldfields!

@@randystreasureadventures sounds good when I do go up to Colorado and then next year when I am up there for quite a while I usually just dig and then pan gold while we have our sluice box set up in in the little stream that flows down from the snow and ice melting. We will walk all around to different areas and throw dirt into the sluice box and check each little batch first before moving onto the next for gold. Now that we have the house up there in the mountains I can stay for a few weeks at a time and while my brother or girlfriend is throwing batches of dirt through the box and the creek I can search around for maybe a hotspot. I haven’t heard of hot rock since I used the XLT, which used to pick up, it would overload on hot rocks on that machine. I have not had an overload once with the manticore. but I also can’t get in and crank it up in all aspects not just sensitivity as I could with the XLT and DFX.

ummm, what were those GPS coords again, asking for a friend
@randystreasureadventures Жыл бұрын
Lol! Just look for the big rocks, go a little past those, head downhill on about 45degrees till you pass the cactus patch, follow the wash till you see a 3’ tall juniper and take the tiny wash uphill. When you get to the coyote skeleton turn left and it’s just outside the little cave with the barrel cactus in the opening. Easy!
