You can access the file system through the recovery mode load the phone up into recovery mode, then connect it to a computer via usb, and it should show up as usual in the file explorer on windows or the android file transfer app on a mac. Hope this helps you, just keep in mind that the phones with a startup password like the one at 2:40 will not cooperate and you won't see the files stored on it. It's also not possible to do this on iphones, but on iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 you can load up an ssh ramdisk and access the filesystem that way. Overall, great video, I subscribed.

Hi, I encrypted the memory card in a Samsung phone of a family member. There were some thousands of photos. I tried to move it to my computer but it deleted the folder of photos. Since it's encrypted, I don't know how to use recovery tools. I know the password. But, I'm worried if I decrypt, it will overwrite the deleted files. You have any idea if those photos are recoverable.

Androids can be put into the boot menu even if they are locked, but you will lose everything on the phone. I don't think you can save the data, and get past the lock unfortunately. I also could be wrong. Anytime I've used the boot menu, it's to get past the password by factory resetting it.
