Would love a video on the soccer card market from you to hear your thoughts. I’m quite happy with the current prices being relatively low to American sports’s cards. It keeps the hobby open to everyone at any price point which is great imo. The hype seems to be mainly in America most of the times though so over here in the UK it’s pretty normal prices. Also my thoughts on why gavi cards sell for as little as they do: 1) People got burnt by Pedri’s hype and don’t want to buy in again 2) Gavi is a midfielder and doesn’t have any iconic/legendary status in football (even cards of xavi, iniesta or busquets go quite “low”. Xavi less so because he was managing them and actively stayed in the spotlight) 3) there’s a countless number of Gavi numbered cards as you said. Panini and topps will have one for every set he is in and every set that released during his rookie year u bet they pasted that RC logo on all their sets like they did with Yamal in the recent Merlin 23/24 release. 4) He’s just not exciting to watch to a casual fan.

What I am seeing on WhatNot is weird in regards to soccer on streams where the seller specializes in BS/BK/FB in people hearing about soccer stars like CR7 and Yamal and they are requesting them even though they know nothing about soccer and severly overpaying for base amd.common cards just to own them. $4 Lamal's going for four times that price. They are simply following the hype on the same levels of Wemby, Caitlin and Bedard, players carrying their sport in the card hype market.
