Nancy's guy Frank here...that is a rather uncommon 1950 Ford... most had the V8 not many had the "6". BUY that CAR! It is a marvelous find. By the way the 6 had only a few hp less than the V8. And with the over drive... it is a great FIND!

Anything that age has at least had the engine rebuilt so it's not really as "all original" as it may appear. The original engines were built for leaded gasoline which you cant buy anymore so that's why they were rebuilt/swapped out to handle the regular stuff. But on the inside it looks like she's been driven which is a great thing to see on all original cars. There are classic car detailers which can do some great stuff with interiors

Edit: yep it's a great find alright especially with those options! Overdrive radio and heater were top trim at the time

Hey Randy, I am an old fart 79 going on 80! I remember the 50 Fords that model also made a V8 flathead that was an incredibly efficient engine and strong for its day! I also had a 1952 Ford that had that same flathead V8! What memories! And here I am today still here and one of your number one fans! Absolutely love your channel the best automotive channel on KZbin hands down in my opinion! For variety of content and automobiles! Also sharing some of your life as a stand-up guy! Only complaint about your reposting old videos is most of the time there is no way to tell they are reruns until you start watching. Could you add to the thumbnail a graphic showing the original air date or something to let people know it’s a repost. I enjoy all your original content and hope you continue even if you cut back on the frequency. Thanks for all the entertaining videos you have posted over the years.

I'm just a pizza car subscriber. You're doing fine, don't worry about complaints from the clueless. As for semi retiring, I'd advise taking a middle ground. Back off if you need to, but don't stop. Remember what got you to where you are, and don't lose traction on it. There's a big difference between reducing throttle, and completely lifting off the gas to where your life experiences engine braking. Lift off to hold 40mph, 45, or 50 instead of the current 70. Don't lift off and coast to a stop. Assets get burned through quicker than you think. Only life off assets in an emergency. Keep living off income.

I feel this all the way in my soul! I spent 20 years working in Franchise Dealerships as a manager for most of that time. I took 2 months off last year and just drove Uber because I needed a break from the constant daily grind that was Dealership Life. I unfortunately, can't leave the car business alone and ended up going to work for an Independ Used Car Dealer and, wish I would have done it sooner. I missed so much over the years and it never clued in to me until, I stepped back and asked myself "WTF am I doing?? Is this really worth it??". Now, I don't stress about anything (I just sell and do minor management tasks) I'm closed every holiday and, I'm home at a decent hour everyday!! Scale back, spend some time with the FAM! Everything will work out

According to an article on the NASCAR truck, they only made 3,000, produced in 1998 only, and the engine was the stock F-150 4.6L. There was nothing mentioned about a supercharger, so I'm guessing it was an add-on. That could be why the engine is blown.

That 50 ford has real steel body parts and solid frame. Modern cars are made with tin foil body panels and no frame. My mom had one of these when I was a child. I loved that old bomb. It was a V8 with 3 in the tree manual trans. It was sold to a college student for $50.00 when we were through with it.

The problem with modern-day appliances, cars, and everything else, is profit. Back in 1950, your major manufacturers (RCA, Zenith, Frigidaire, etc) competed with each other based on engineering, features, reliability, and longevity. A Zenith engineer, for example, went home at the end of the day proud that he was part of a team that made innovative home entertainment products. Now it's a fight for the highest minimum wage at McDonald's. RCA, Zenith, and Frigidaire are now just names that Chinese manufacturers licensed to pretend that they have a name-brand product, but it's really built in a sweat-shop. Consumers as a whole just want the cheapest price anymore, and psychologically don't care as much about longevity because our modern products are so boring, they're ready for something new in a couple years anyhow.

So, about the ‘50 Ford and why we do not make them like that anymore…. I have a 1951 Ford Victoria 2 door that is the last year of the ‘49, ‘50, and ‘51 “Shoebox Fords”. I recently replaced literally every piece on the front of the car. I lost count of the nuts and bolts pairs and screws I was using to put everything back together at around 120 to 130. The center section of the grill alone was around 40 fasteners! There is no way manufacturers could make a cost effective car that way nowadays! Well done on assessing the engine and the electrics! For someone who says that they know nothing about the car, you were 100% correct! About the overdrive… The car has a quasi semi automatic overdrive. In third gear, while accelerating, one lifts off of the gas pedal and the car will automatically shift into overdrive. The handle you pulled on will lock out the overdrive. Parts are super available for the Shoebox Fords; so you could get that car running and looking decent again without too much trouble.

Don’t let them haters get to you, Randy I enjoy your content. It is something to look forward to even if you put out one video a month something is better than nothing. Take your time and regenerate, and hopefully you can come out with a contingency God bless

Brother Randy definitely would be interested in seeing what you could do with the 50 Ford. Maybe do a cheap budget makeover

Love the content that you have done over the years. I’ve been watching since 2019. I think the one thing that could greatly help you is a personal video editor. Someone that videos and edits and does everything so that you don’t have to even touch the camera. 3x your time and quality in the video while you can just do you. I’m a videographer myself and I see great potential in your channel. Please don’t quit❤

Sorry to say but you’re not the only one that makes sacrifices to make a living. You gotta do what you gotta do. We are all tired and getting old but the truth be told, we choose what we do for a living and instead of complaining about it, make a change.

Hi Randy, i have been following you for a long time, i hope you don´t quit making videos completley, i undersand it´s a hard work to be a creator, you are showing a lot of cars we don´t have here in Sweden and that´s interesting, also bying and make cars go back on the road again is a good thing.

Randy! Taking a break does help with your mental and health. I do restoration on old vehicles and I am getting burned out of all the complaining my customers throw at me. So I decided to take a break from all of it. Whatever you decide just know alot of us really enjoy your videos. Hang in there brother!

Randy; I'm 17 and have been watching your videos daily for the past 4 years. I just wanted to say, that I've learned so much about cars from watching your videos, and I've been able to use that knowledge in my daily life. I understand your decision if you decide to quit, but will miss you all the same. Know you probably won't see this, but I still wanted to say it

I would hate to see you go brother, but I understand if you need to. Your content is one of the things, that has helped me relax after a long day, no one does it like you do. But do what you think is best obviously. Haters are vile, already miserable human beings that want others to feel the same way they do.

Hey man, there's people that have it rough doing social media as a job, i may not understand the frustration that you have with this but i can feel it, i don't really want you to leave youtube completely, but if you do leave at some point it was nice seeing your journey in this crazy world being social media, but if you don't completely leave, I'd be more then happy watching 1-3 videos a week instead of watching 1 video a day, but whatever happens we all support you, love your videos man, we're here for the next step in your journey!!
