I found a Razor Blade in my Car tire!!! Tire Replacement Needed?

I’m here today for same reason. Took my tire to Discount Tire where I bought it. The damage was over a quarter inch so they couldn’t safely repair it. Curiously I had just,by chance, read an article about razor blades in tires a few days earlier. Just saw a news article about the lottery being at two billion so I’m buying some lotto tickets today.

Razor blade in rear tire today. Entire blade inside indentation of tread. Firestone repaired it with an inner patch.

I just found the same razor blade in my tire! Luckily I was a couple blocks away from home. I was starting to think someone stabbed it when I got off at the store. Lol

It can be a weird feeling, but most likely they would go for a side wall. Do you have the stock tires?

I found one of these stuck in my tires yesterday but it was a new blade...my guy thinks someone purposely flattened my tire but i dont have any enemies at all. He really think these things cant get ran over

if you park in warehouse areas or areas of construction its possible a razor can be on ground

Can a tyre patch can repair that kind of cut?? I want to know because ive got the same problem early in the morning today its annoying , im here because i finding some fix on my problem im searching for tyre patch , its hard to think that a cutter blade is cost a doller or so vs a hundred dollar new tyre

Unfortunately this thing happened to me 2 times in a month. I m suspecting the parking lot I go to sometimes. But I m totally surprised that it happened 2 times

A flat turned non repairable blade in my 2 month old tires brought me here.

Same ish happened last night to me but that razor like object was nowhere near as deep as your puncture. So im trying to find out if using a rubber cement would work best my puncture is much much shallower and narrower in size but it was enough puncture to cause a slow leak. Hopefully this works

I just had a full size razor blade in my back tire! But how would a flat blade be lodged in my tire?

Possibly it was kicked up on a road from another car and you drove over it on the correct angle as it was being tossed around in the road?

I got a similar razor blade on the front passenger side tire of my MDX. We are living in a crazy world.

My MDX had a similar razor blade in the rear passenger tire yesterday. Was taking my toddler to the ER and noticed it. Was putting him in the car seat which is on the same side where the razor was. Frustration is an understatement here.

My opinion would be that if you can see the steel belts or chords from which the tire is made, I would replace it. I would no longer have any confidence in driving around with it. Not only has that object penetrated far enough for you to actually see them, but as the tire deforms under load it continuously exposes it to air and moisture which will rust the steel further, weakening it. Also, any other debris will have a much greater chance of lodging itself in there and doing additional damage. A comparable used tire would be very prudent to get I feel.

Very true about the rust, I am going to definitely make an update video about this. I recorded this video 2 months ago and so far no problems, might be a slippery slope keeping this tire though. Thanks for the continued support Rick!
