Thanks Andy! Lovely comment, deserves pinning. So far things are certainly looking good with this project. I actually just processed a second sample a few days ago, 76kg of material with a bit of the low grade centre rock also. Surprisingly I got a very similar result, I haven't melted it up yet, but I'd guess around 35gAu and 5gAg per tonne. Which is fantastic for a second sample with some dilution. Woohoo

I watched that video when you dislocated your shoulder and I was heavily impressed how you dealt with that situation. I would be crying like a girl hahaha. And now I am heavily impressed again, because it is most certainly not an easy task to walk that distance in such hard to walk terrain, and to dig out those rocks, and to carry it all back again. I am not an expert by any means, but to me that rock looks like metamorphosed rock. Meaning that it formed at the surface, but at some point in time, millions of years ago, it ended up deep inside the earth, and it basically got cooked at high temperatures and pressure. And eventually the top layers eroded and now it is back at the surface again. While it was deep in the earth it experienced a lot of heat and pressure and that deposited the quartz and it precipitated the gold and other metals out of solution at the contact zones with the existing rocks on either side of the quartz vain. I could be completely wrong, as I said I am not an expert by any means, but I have been watching some geology videos, and other prospectors. Thanks for sharing, it is always a little adventure. 👍
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
Sounds right to me Tuna! Similar theory to mine, so I guess there must be some truth to our suspicions. It's always very tricky to get the best look at the rock and geology over film, so you've done well. A very strange reef indeed though, unlike any of the others I have found in this area so far. Exclusively showing similarities to the "Tricky to Find Reef". I've traced this structure along the surface for a few hundred meters now, float material on the surface has shown some gold, but not in the same quantity as in this shaft.
@insAneTunA2 ай бұрын
@@TheGoldmansChannel yeah, like you said, the surface rock had a long time to erode and to flush all the material away. Especially when it is such fine gold it will be hard to find on the surface. I mean, it could even end up hundreds of kilometers away from the source if there was some sort of creek or a river system somewhere in the past. In the US there are locations where almost a mile thick layer of rock has eroded away. And in such a situation there must have been flows of water that would reach a long distance. It seems to be pretty rich ore for such a thin strip of ore. Which is nice, because that means a whole lot less work to get it out. Anyway, I am looking forward to the next adventure.

You've done very well with your prospecting and recovery plant but heartened to see the value you hold for the bush itself. I am hoping i get time one day to make videos myself where i combine gold prospecting and geology with ecology. If i was the king of Australia i'd open the game back up to the small scale miner but regulate them to demonstrate the highest level of preservation of natural values on the sites.

Thanks for tuning in and dropping a comment mate, much appreciated. Yes I agree, we can certainly still retain our industry without destroying the environment around us. We've got some pretty crazy ideas about environmental protection these days, well overboard in most cases! As a bloke who lives in the bush (off grid on my own land), it's certainly in my best interest to respect it, and I believe I'm also obligated to look after it wherever I can.

Out of curiosity approximately what would it cost to lease that area? I’m American so I have no idea what mineral leases cost over there
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
Good morning Jph. They're quite rediculous here in Vic state, Aus. Typical Exploration License application fees are in the area of $3000. This gives mineral rights to the owner, and allows for work plans to conduct low impact works to establish viability, such as core drilling, rock sampling etc. Once viability has been proven. Application fees for a mining license run you about $5000. Not including Native Title assessments, bonds, fees for additions, or alterations. It can get bloody expensive, very fast!
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
Bonds can be anywhere for $10000 to multiple millions, depending on the size of the project and the planned works.

@@TheGoldmansChannel you dont have prospecting lease's over there? In WA you can peg a prospecting lease have it for 4 years, then option to extend. Then you have the option to convert to small scale mining lease. Cost for pegging a P is $374 once off fee then $29 rent per year min, or $3 per hectare. Max area 200 hectare. Min expenditure $2000, bond is not paid up front, it is a commitment to the bond amount if one does the wrong thing.
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
That's just the starting prices too JPH, bigger the ground, the more expensive. We have PLs here also Rob, yes. But they're limited to a maximum of 5 hectares, so I'd only be able to peg a small amount of the total area I would need. I've traced the structure for about 3 kilometres so far. I would hate to have another company come in and cover the rest of the reef because I only had a small area pegged on it. PLs are heaps cheaper though, a much better option if the area of interest is only small.
