The only legendary animal that I’ve seen was a Peta bison that randomly spawned, and as soon as my friend and I took it down, some random dude swooped in and yeeted the sample before we could catch up to it.

I ran into two of those UFOs by Emerald Ranch - one seemed to have wrecked and landed at an angle - so U was able to crawl under it and look up through the clear top. That was all I could so though. Luckily I started recording as soon as I spotted them. :-) So far, I have found the Legendary boar and the Legendary bison in free roam. Boar was on the coast North of Saint Denis, and the bison was kust West of Emerald Ranch. Maybe R* has fixed some of that anyway.
