Reckon that tyre was repairable. My van has gone in similar spots couple of times and been roughly a tenner to plug :)

Tyre place will plug that for about £10 ive drove over loads of screws. Mostly from falling out my van 😂

Nice cooper score ;),i bought a cheap Tubeless Puncture Repair Kit like there use in tyre shops from ebay comes with repair rubber strings , used it loads of times over the years after getting screws and nail in my tyres.
