Had one of those large radios when I was young. Dad had antenna wire running around the attic roof. This was late 40s. The wire is still running around the attic today.

Just wow on this unit. Such a mix of "what the heck"!!!....I would love that old furniture. I don't know who told you camera movements make us watchers sick. I mean maybe if you were dancing around twirling....maybe. Camera work is good and steady. It doesn't make us sick. You worry too much Wade. You guys are doing fine. That would play 78 rpm records. You'd need the peg/adapter in order to play 45's, as I recall.

I’d buy that washer and dryer in a heartbeat. The washers today are made to break in a few years. I have my top loader from 25 years ago. I keep it maintained and it works fantastic. Front loaders are terrible and don’t clean well.

I have that type of Maytag and I'd gladly keep it over my parent's new model that takes forever to run and is too temperamental. Old school quality for days...and years!

don't quickly dismiss that Maytag washer. I have and use the exact model here at my home and it's lasted me 25 years and still going strong!! They are very heavy duty (blankets, towels, etc...) and are SO easy to work on or repair if needed. MUCH better than the digital models sold today.. IMHO. Great machines!

Hi Wade and Ashley. Nice unit. That guy was in the military probably worked in communications. He then proceeded after retirement repairing electrical equipment there was an oscilloscope tube tester. That old record player was really clean and nice. Looks like it played 78 vintage albums. All them small parts were all for repairs on electronics. Nice videos. Take care wade and Ashley.

My grandfather was in a group of largest stamp collector in US. We had boxes stacked all over our home spent hours on it. We were roped into soaking the stamps off envelopes. You soaked the paper in warm water till stamp came off then put them in between sheets of special cardboard like paper to dry. I cringe at stamps now. Lots of work

That's a magnavox stereo record player! One ur oldest brand, real quality! U have a lincoln welder! We just sold our Lincoln welder (redface) $5k. That old washer will be a blessing. It gets clothes clean!

Gary Ewing was big in the Portland army and music world. Famous for psychedelic posters, worked with Grateful Dead, also did lighting for major events like the Mayor’s Ball!

Gary Ewing was a Portland rock art icon. He died at 65 years in 2008. They are early works I think. Definitely seek an art dealer!

Bassett is a very good name in furniture. Take good care of that one. I haven't heard of Morsman but that's a nice chest too. And those beds are beautiful! Magnavox phonograph -- that's amazing! And the old Grunow radio!! Found one on eBay $300. Sarah Bernhardt (on that big poster) was a 19th century stage actress, and acted in several early silent films as well. The Sarah Bernhardt Theatre, also known as Théâtre Sarah Bernhardt, was a Parisian theatre built in the 19th century, according to Wikipedia. I think my washer is older than that one. Mine has fewer dials and no buttons :) Those postcards look like the ones we used when I was little -- a very long time ago! Leave the stamps on the envelopes -- they have dated postmarks. That looks like a fun collection!! Yes, we are old LOL Those look like post office boxes. That's why they are open in the back. I have not seen any with 2 combination locks though. Wow. Those would be fun to have.

Definitely give you two credit for all the hard work you do and how knowledgeable you both are. Wade, you pick some really interesting units. Does Oregon have a lot of antique dealers who might be interested in some of the old record players, etc. You might hear from comic booker re-sellers who will be interested in buying that many comics. Basset furniture is a name brand and might still be making furniture in NC. It's a brand known on the East Coast.

I had a maytag washer just like that and it was still running when we had to leave it at a house we rented as we had no place to put it and we had a family of 7 it has been used for over 20 years as we bought it at a house auction for 5 dollars as no one wanted it. Loved that washer.

I have comics from 50s 60s and 70s (condition isn't great, but that's to be expected with the age) if i manage to catch a yard sale (you would need to give me at least 2 weeks advance with a date because im a college student and need advance notice to plan a day trip to attend) i might bring some as a gift to you. I just struggle to plan ahead with the little notice you give us, but it would be really fun to attend and find some stuff for my future teaching stash. Keep an eye out for comics from before 1948. Trust me, 1947 is worth more than 1949. (Comic book burnings of 1948 drastically reduced supply)

Those huge tubes marked extra parts from the basement are picture tubes for very first TVs ever made. The shaft is fragile and don't hit the base of the shaft because you can damage it. It will release a gas that makes the tube work and then it will be useless. My Dad made our first TV in Radio/TV school in 1953 or 54.
