Quality over quantity is a perfect way to curate your collection. You're feel more satisfied, accomplished at the end of the series when you add these games to your collection, not feel that it was a waste of time adding filler titles. I would also build up quality, however, for future challenges. You could make a series where you go out collecting quantity, filler titles to use as trade bait towards your next $10 pursuit, use that value as leverage to get more expensive titles that you want, create a two part mini series that blends them together. Awesome video, Austin!

I 100% agree - I feel like he buys games at goodwill for the sake of content (picks up filler titles). Also if you notice, he can never get his budget over $100 with the items he sells coz he keeps buying rubbish titles. Generally he hovers between $35 - $70 and then it’s rinse and repeat with common shovelware. I’d like to see if he can increase his budget my showing constraint and buying quality (I.e first party titles, cartridges, games that are worth more than $25)

I don’t think that comment should throw you off. You know what you are doing, so far a fantastic job. Great Videos!

Getting fun and interesting games is what matters. You do a great job, I like that dk pickup for Wii U, that’s one I need to pickup for mine.

The Minecraft was the winner of the week! You should do an updated collection video. It's grown pretty big. :0

I believe that was my comment about quality over quantity. I was not talking about value, I meant getting good games. I noticed in your last challenge you tend to buy any cheap games to fill out the numbers in your collection, with many of them being little better than or total shovelware. I was saying I would rather see you save up and get some of the better quality games versus grabbing low priced filler.

Thanks for leaving that comment! I think it's a great discussion topic for not only my series, but for all collectors in general.

Have you considered posting a trade offer for a modern console (like collector’s luck or Kody with a k, for example)? Seems like a pain in the ass to do but the results are phenomenal!

I started my resell eBay last year and have about 90ish rn from it, of the top tier quality games from switch and PS5. Best for that to save on space for a collection and games you'd actually want to play play Once you start getting into just buying a game that you have no interest in but fills up space on the shelves is a no from me

I think you're reading to much into the quality comment. For example. You bought a highschool musical game in a previous video. Most people consider that filler.

Quality over quantity = first stage, Second stage = boxed nes n64 , Then you need to flip your unboxed.. It never ends... ;-)

Please don’t change anything about YOUR collection! Garage sales and thrift stores have been increasingly challenging to find “quality” games. Please continue to pick up those quantity games because it makes it realistic especially when using it towards funds. It’s impossible to find a Mario kart double dash every weekend.

Try to avoid fillers and shovel ware games (except hidden gems games). That will save you alot of space in your game collection.

Gears of War, has had novels, audiobooks, graphic novels since early 2000 FYI. I remember buying a few books in high school at book fairs and Barnes and Noble.

Quality means no shovelware, for example the Nintendo Wii had a lot of shovelware.

I don't think they mean quality in that regard I THINK it's referring to games you find to flip that only bring in a couple dollars profit or the shovelware stuff that hasn't sold when it's clearly shovelware. I'd hope no one is judging your actual collection because that's just silly thinking what one person would enjoy another will.

I think Austin means quality as in games that hold personal value to him. For example; does the price tag reflect the game playability, or nostalgia value. He might like a $3 game like Lost Planet over a $1000 game like ClayFighter. That is what Austin means by quality. Quantity is what he uses to build as trade bait to get the quality games he wants. The games at the end of each collection video go to his personal collection that is curated to his tastes, which makes other people's opinion on his collection redundant, hold no real weight anyway.

@HailtoFire I get that part I stated I hope it's not about his personal collection and was wondering if it was about the games he was picking up. If it's about his personal collection it's just goofy to comment on someone's collection. If it's about games he buys to flip I sorta understand it

@@leeokami22 I haven't seen any negative comments about Austin's personal collection, or the games he buys to flip. That's because at the start of the first $10 series, he did an overview of his main collection, explained how he amassed so many in his collection in one year, by flipping games he doesn't care for, other profitable items, the bulk of his viewers, subscribers came from that first $10 collection video, series, so they understand that he buys them to flip. Hope that clears it up. PS I am one of those who started following since that video, so I have seen his come up. This is only his second year doing this.

Wait, they're selling the games at decent prices instead of eBay prices? I thought they were just going to sell at eBay prices but in person instead of from their website. Is this really gamestop?
