Nice rad shell. Once you know how much cooling surface you need then you can sketch out a few ideas playing with the dimensions. I don't know if the shell would take it, but I would think about sharpening some of those rounded corners. Just a thought.

Great video. I managed to get to Beaulieu for the first time this year and I think it will become a yearly pilgrimage. I've owned and rebuilt a Lafrance Speedster and that radiator does look on the small side and I'm surprised you couldn't have made the shell with your gift of the English wheeling. Good luck though best wishes with it all.

Re your radiator, might be worth having a word with Anglia Radiators in Cambridge. They are expert in rebuilding/remanufacturing period style radiators, including for Merlin aero engines. Suspect they may well be your sort of people. Certainly they sorted my radiator out and none of this aluminium compromise.
@luddite62392 ай бұрын
What a treasure trove Beaulieu is! Nice find with the radiator. Rather than chop it about for extra capacity, couldn't you just run two radiators, one above the other? The old Honda RC30 ran an upper and lower radiator, which worked fine.

I would use the design of the radiator cowl and scale it up to 150% or so. Not sure about the core, but I think I would use a modern core and a replica honecomb mesh in front of it. In the mean time, restore the radiator, mount it on the wall as inspiration.
