Too bad Billys was closed. He has a great shop and our group meet up part at his shop last year was a highlight. I would have recorded me walking up to his locked door🤠😎 that years venue was color looking it seems, but I would prefer hanging in Manhattan. Arnaldo and Walter are the bests hosts. Fun stuff Chance. ❤️🔥

Spoiler: the follow up video to this featuring the shops we visited does have a Billy’s Record Salon appearance in that vein. It was fun to see him briefly at the show. And I said it before and will say it again, you were definitely missed. Especially when it came to organizing our little lots into one singular meetup. Plus Amanda (Women In Vinyl/wearesmelly on IG) instantly recognized the Mazzy t-shirt I wore on day two. More on her also in the next video. Maybe you know her.

As an unashamed lover of all things cheesy from the ‘90s, I’m envious of that Marky Mark album! Had a modern reissue of Paid In Full up until a few years ago but I either sold it or passed it on as VCLT, I forget which. Interestingly (to me anyway!) the cut-up artist People Like Us (Vicki Bennett) who I have a unique 1 of 1 LP pressing (Selections from Wet Sounds, I’m so proud, it is displayed behind me in many of my vids), has a seasonal show on WFMU radio. I listen on demand when I can, she plays some crazy musique concrete, bootlegs, cut-ups and other weird-arse stuff 😄 Had no idea the station held a record show; it looks a superb one. Great video Chance, enjoyed seeing you share your stories and showing your pick ups here 👍🏼

As I said in Surface Noise, great buys Chance. Love to see those classic hip hop buys. I'm of the age where I bought Eric B & Rakim, NWA and The DOC first time round. Played those records to death. I know in Surface Noise you mentioned UK/European pressings. I'm glad you didn't end up with the Euro press of The DOC. The Grand Finale has all the expletives bleeped out unlike your US press. Annoyingly I had the opportunity to buy a US copy (shrink/hype stickers) from a friends collection years ago for £10 but just thought I'd live with my Euro press. It was a few years later when I found out about the difference...doh! Big time want on the Gil Scott-Heron since 1990! Not a record you're seeing here in the UK but I should have got one online in the 00s when they were a fraction of the current price. I've said it before but my pals white Bleach is still in his attic, along with other highly sought after indie/grunge/shoegaze. His wife was a huge Smiths fan. Her big regret was not swapping her jacket with the jacket of the drummer as he took a fancy to hers, I think around 86/87. She saw The Smiths live multiple times. Tell Arnaldo that story 🙂. Would love to visit NY and especially the fair. Regards Nige

Would love for you to come stateside and meetup Nige. But first - UK D.O.C. w/o the profanity?!?!? Yikes! Reminds me of the 1st copy of Dre's 2001 I got - didn't pay attention to the absence of the PA sticker...started playing it....CLEAN VERSION. Wack AF! Needless to say I corrected that asap AND made sure to list the clean version for sale with that detail. 🙂

@ConcertBuddie Would be great mate...if only I could stop buying records and save up for such trips 😄. I know, absolutely wrong on many levels...like the 2 Live Crew's - As Clean As They Wanna Be. Have a good week mate.

So many albums that I have looked for from the 90s only came out in the UK and Europe. After all these years I’m still pissed at the recording industry for forcing me into CDs because they refused to do vinyl. Obviously I’m not bitter, freaking bastards. With my lack of self control and unable to find a wingman to keep me in control this show would not have been financially positive for me .
