Adrienne you are a beautiful person. If you want to recreate, you should hang out near US military base in Korea or Vladivostok, Russia and take train west. To get there go via Japan to be safe.

We have a US airbase very close to my city (in Turkey) and we're very used to American soldiers walking around in their casual clothes of short shorts and t-shirts, even if it's about 0 C. It's definitely an American thing.

Were you always a seafood person or did you acquire a love for it after moving to S. Korea? I feel like 99% of their ramyeon has seafood in it...so much so that I didn't think you could even have it without fishcakes until my local health food store opened up their own ramyeon bar.

It really only happened when I came to Korea! I’ve always loved boiled crab and shrimp but I didn’t like sushi or raw fish until I came here and started eating it often!! It’s def common to have seafood in ramen you’re right about that

You can't unless you have citizenship of an English as first language country. These are US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, Ireland. Outside of that you don't get it. They want native speakers. So even if you are from Germany and speak perfect English and have a degree in teaching English they won't hire you.
