I Found More NICHE Fragrances! | TJ Maxx Fragrance Haul

In this video I hit TJ Maxx and find a couple of niche fragrances that you do not find very often at the rack store!
Both fragrances are from the same house of Commodity and I will tell you which one I think you should try.
Vetiver is described as a marriage of golden, unctuous woody aromas and exquisite tropical floralcies, both feminine and masculine, mild and powerful.“For me, being a perfumer is like being a chef or painter - taking ingredients and coming up with your own recipe, your own creation. I was about 16 years old when I first smelled vetiver, and it’s been one of my favorite raw materials ever since.” - Caroline Sabas.
Top: Apple, Petalia®, Blackberry.
Heart: Sampaquita, Jasmin Vintage Oil.
Base: Haitian Vetiver Oil, Cedarwood Oil, Indonesian Patchouli Oil, Australian Sandalwood Oil.
Bergamot is described as an energizing gender-neutral scent of bright, green notes and stark citruses; fresh, yet sophisticated.“I love citrus, I love its freshness; it is addictive in an energizing way. About a year so ago, TJ Maxx had these two and I couldn't believe my eyes what I just saw! When I saw the price, they were like $30 ea and I said to myself, "there's no way!" I grabbed three bottles of Bergamot and one of Vetiver and I still can't believe TJ Maxx had them. I'm with you Gerard...Bergamot is much better than Vetiver.

Hey Gerard. I have both of these and I will tell you that you will get a lot of wear out of them. Casual, work, or date night appropriate. Performance is above average. Also, let that vetiver sit for about a week and try it then.Thanks for the video.

I actually found Commodity Tea @ Ross....$34.99. I was very skeptical...but I caved and bought it. What a pleasant surprise !! I did get that "alcohol" at first spritz...and then was pleased with what I smelled....but...this one is more "complex" ....you have to let it develop on your skin...and then..I was very happy with what I smelled. It does not resemble other fragrances in my vast collection...but it is best suited for Spring/Summer/Fall IMHO. I did see the Bergamot there as well.....wish I picked that one up too...dang it !

I like Vetiver a little more than Bergamot honestly. It’s a bit more complex and it’s actually easy to wear. I was able to pick up Gin also. All are fragrances to layer with.

Well what you have is the old commodity, this American brand went out of business around 2 or 3 years ago and that is how these fragrances started to hit the rack stores during the first year of the pandemic for around 20-30 USD then the brand was purchased by another company and revived it but the presentation changed the bottles are now black or white and only someone that purchased both the new and the old bottles can tell you if these smell the same, anyway is good to find something that is marked as niche for a low price, recently a friend of Manny Aceves found a bottle of Bvlgari Gyan that is part of the gems collection and that cost around 250+ in discounter sites for only 39.99 at Macy's, wish you luck, hopefully you can also find one of those bottles during your huntings... great video!

Last pick-up was Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Signature. Great scent! I found Commodity Tea last year. Literally smells like a glass of iced tea. My daughter loved it, so I gave it to her. Went back bought another bottle, it's still sealed in my fragrance storage.

My last orders just arrived yesterday and today. There are some very interesting scents in there. Ferrari Red Power Ice 3, a very pleasant summer fragrance. Jaguar for Men Privé, a rather specific vetiver fragrance, priced at only about $13. Demeter Fresh Brewed Coffee, which is probably the nicest coffee scent I know so far. Micallef White Sea, I don't quite know what to think of it yet, whether I think it's great or bad. Dry down is definitely very pleasant, especially the soapiness, but the opening is really a massacre. It's strong and citrusy, a bit reminiscent of Acqua Essenziale Cologne by Ferragamo, but there's also a urine undertone... And then the long-delayed - and I don't know why it took me so long - Prada L'Homme L'Eau. And finally best of all - Chopard Oud Malaki. A lot of people compare it to Bvlgari Man in Black, but I smell a bit more Bvlgari Wood Essence in there, or let's say something in between. Anyway, great. 😊

Literally watch this video last night. Decided to hit up my local TJ Maxx today after work. Was actually hoping to find Encre Noire Sport to complete my Lalique collection. Check the men's section was nothing except the usual fragrance stuff, but I did go over to the women's fragrance section and booyah there was 2 bottles of Commodity Bergamot. I’m glad I avoided commodity vetiver yesterday, i saw people saying it smells like blackberries and floral notes. Bergamot I love! I got that one a year back, it’s very similar to Mugler Cologne 🔥

I have them both, and I was waiting for you to get hit with the wet cardboard note in the opening of Vetiver 😆... Should've been named Jasmine, but nonetheless, very unique and I love wearing it on rainy days. Bergamot is a citrus blast in the Arctic. Incredible opening. I’ve had commodity bergamot for a couple of years now and I love it I i use it to blend and sweeten and freshen up other scents. Btw that u boxes Frozen Spice you picked up fir a second is a clone of adult Homme Cologne try it out.

Last time I was in a rack store was a Marshalls in Queens around Christmas. I ended up picking up Signature by Ben Sherman for literally $10 for a 50 ml. If you can find that one, it's ridiculous how good it smells for the price. It's easily the best bang-for-buck rack store pick up in the last year for me.

Yeah…. Commodity Vetiver wasn’t exactly what I was expecting either. It took time…. But it did grow on me a bit. That black berry / currant is very very prominent.. I don’t wear it much at all. It does get more vetiver forward on my skin though

I grabbed Bergamot and Leather both from TJ maxx, I passed on Vetiver and Gin. Mine are the newer bottles. Yours are the older bottles with silver caps and frosted glass. I’m curious if your bergamot smells different. Mine is clear glass with white cap.

Yeah. It must have been five years ago when Commodity was going bankrupt that the rack stores were flooded with the stuff. I was new and didn't know what it was. Finally I watched Tommy at Studio Scents say that you should buy it if you see it. I managed to buy Bergamot, but I kick myself for only getting that one. The rule still holds.

Hey, I have Commodity Bergamot and it's really nice! It's a retail $130 scent, so $35 is a steal for sure. If you ever see Commodity Gin, you definitely won't be disappointed. Yeah, my rack stores have been utterly empty, but it's probably okay. I ended up buying a second 4 am haul this past week on Fragrancebuy when I couldn't sleep as well as a bottle of Dior Homme Original because it popped up at Jomashop. I definitely can't buy anything else for at least a month, I went nuts this week. The second Fragrancebuy haul I got was: Ferragamo Bright Leather, Star Men Nebula, Karl Lagerfeld Bois de Cedre, Cerruti Image, and Paris Corner Killer Oud Cabana. Ferragamo Bright Leather has been dragged a little bit for not being as strong as the other two recent Ferragamo Leather scents, but personally it's my favorite of the recent three and one I've been meaning to buy for months. It's the closest thing out there right now to Dior Fahrenheit Aqua. Star Men Nebula is supposed to be a spot on clone of Pure Malt, so I'm super excited to smell it and see given how Pure Malt is now extinct. I know you like Bois de Vetiver from Karl Lagerfeld, so I definitely think you should check out the others from that line. There's also a Bois de Yuzu which I think you'd enjoy. Cerruti is a house that I think can do no wrong and is HIGHLY underrated. No one talks about them, but they're so good. Image was I believe my last hole to owning them all, and Image is an old one. It's super woody, has some odd notes like Pear, Banana Leaf, Fig Leaf, Plum, Cypress, and it's pretty unique in today's market. I think 1881 Signature and 1881 Riviera are at the top of their list, maybe even 1881 Silver, but Image is a unique spring scent. Paris Corner has been hit or miss, but they've had some INCREDIBLE hits and their Killer Oud line is supposed to be Amouage clones. Amouage is virtually never cloned because their quality of ingredients and complexity of scents makes them not an ideal target, but I decided to try one and see how they did, and this is a clone of Beach Hut, so we'll see. Could be amazing, could be awful, and I haven't seen anyone else review them or anything so this is fully uncharted waters. Hopefully the rack stores get some good stuff here soon, but for now we still have empty shelves.

@@gerardgeorge Note breakdown for Cerruti 1881 Signature: Top notes are Pepper, Nutmeg and Grapefruit; middle notes are Leather, Cardamom and Labdanum; base notes are Amber, Peppertree, Patchouli and Vetiver. This gets compared to CH Men Prive, but honestly I prefer the Cerruti. The opening is super peppery and warm, and it dries into an almost Corinthian leather, very soft and smooth. If you told me it was a $150 frag I'd believe you if I hadn't smelled it before. Really good stuff.
