hi Katie, thank you so much for visiting Bhutan. Just wanted to say two things; the fabric you showed is actually a kira, we just have to use a kara(belt) to wear it. And the part where you were wearing the kira is kinda wrong, you just have to wear it the other way, so like the folded parts should be on the right side(when you start wearing it, it should start from the left then you have to wrap it counterclock wise) Hope this helps😁 💖

What a lovely trip! 😀 I love hearing your opinions and analysis of other people's textile techniques. I was recently in Japan, and even there, my crafter's mind worked hard with a thousand different ideas and projects, stimulated by the incredible things I saw. Traveling is a great way to expand your mind, it develops humility, the ability to adapt and above all it is a source of inspiration! ❤

I want to combine some travel with my interest in many species! . . .my gosh, the beautiful (+ varied) MONKEYS! I love (LOVE) dogs, and it looks as if they are respected enough here, to wander free? 'Love the end with the shot of that great dog up-high! ('wonder what she's thinking!) I hope it was as peaceful as it looks, and that you had some time (other than your climb) that wasn't packed, and so you could take (it) in! ✌❤ & 🪡!

Bhutan was perhaps the most serene country I've ever visited. It's one of the first to have 100% of their dogs and cats spayed/neutered so those that roam free don't contribute to an overpopulation problem. And I think the Buddhist respect for all living creatures allows them to roam without fear of getting run over or abused. If you love nature and wildlife and learning about different cultures, I can't recommend Bhutan enough!

I Too went to Bhutan in 2001( shortly after 911) in November. It was a lovely experience to say the least. I wanted to see a real Buddhist country. I found out that they are as elitist as any other, and refused entry to temples because I am a woman. I now use my Kira skirt as a table cloth.
