I Found New Investment Casting Tips

I changed many things with the process which ended up helping me get some amazing results with siraya tech purple and blue casting resin 50/50 mix. I see in these videos the expense of plaster and materials and time and I am left cold, to do those four small things you would spend that amount of plaster, you should improve that method, look for some 4, 4.5 and 5 cm wide nickel water pipe tubes, buy the adapter to make small castings, which is a metal cap with a hole of approximately 2 cm and its respective silicone rubber, with that you will do a better job, those resin burning ovens take a long time, you should change to a much more powerful one and the burning you can do in 45 minutes and it will be super good, the shorter the distance between the burner and the resin tube the better, I do it daily and it works super well for me!

@MrBeardedJeweler can you explain what are the perfect working conditions of casting parameters like the vacuum pressure, duration of vacuum, pouring temperature, and mold temperature. and what about good type of plaster that you recommend to use.

It depends on the metal you're trying to cast with. I think it was your email I responded to about aluminum casting. It's different for each metal. Some investments work with many types of metal.

Looking real good. I just worry about the high temp 90c for the resin? I've seen that those thermal bands that you wrap around the tank are highly effective, I might go that route, but will also try warming up resin to 90c, and see if that helps.

Thank you! I warm it up to about 90° fahrenheit not Celsius. Only until the bottle is warm to the touch. I only warm it up enough to lower the viscosity. When it gets warmer you can tell a huge difference when you swirl the bottle. I don't know how warm the resin is able to get without ruining it.

Is it better to use glycerin or anhydrous isopropanol (99.9%)?

The isopropanol is used for cleaning and the vegetable glycerin is used for curing. Submerge it in the vegetable glycerin in a container that allows UV to pass through and cure in that. It prevents the pieces from absorbing moisture from the air.

How long do you melt your metals? I don’t know if I’m doing it long enough.

When I am melting them in the furnace after it's fully melted I wait at least 5 more mins before pouring the metal. Others told me to wait ten mins to ensure it's fully molten. I use a higher temp so I don't feel that I need to wait that long.

@@jovannemarquis6623 if the metal is beyond melting point, and if the flask is too hot and you pour it, you will get sandy finish on the cast

That is no necesary, no glycerin, put only in water, it work great!, and Burnout very fast in only 45 minutes at 880C work great! I make it every day and work very good!

Buddy. Get away from that resin. Alpha sense castable on eBay or Amazon. I also use oro.

I will be moving to a better resin. I started with this resin because it will help me learn the process since it's a finicky resin to get right. I'll check that resin out. Thank you!
