I Found Newts and a Toad in my Wildlife Garden AMPHIBIANS IN THE UK

I found three #newts and a large #toad whilst tidying in the garden. #frogs toads and newts are native #amphibians to the UK. In the south they have #slowworms and #lizards which are native #reptiles in many UK #gardens I have focused my #gardening around encouraging #wildlife and #biodiversity I have installed a wildlife pond, a log pile, a hibernaculum and a wildflower meadow.
In the UK we have smooth newts, palmate newts and great crested newts. I believe the ones I saw were Great Crested Newts Triturus Cristatus which are the highly protected ones.
newts are protected species so if you find them please do not touch them and try not to disturb them. when I found these I took some footage of the newt walking away then left the area.

I think this one may have been a lady newt due its larger size. Have you got space for a camel?

@MarksGardenUK palmate and smooth . Ponds too new and too small for great crested ones . My daughter calls em baby crocodiles , amazing creatures

It was the first ever toad sitting on top of a clump of pond scum I see on the day you spotted yours
