I think this is the Junkrat that saw the Reddit hate of "Oh my God, spam character, no skill, ew" and decided "Oh I'm gonna be the precise and smart Junkrat!" but then he uses his mines bad, doesn't do the grenade + mine combo, doesn't do anything with the flanks and reloads after 1 or 2 grenades fired. Not to mention the insane waiting time between.

@@ThaVipaa I'm thinking you're right. It's fairly easy to spot DPS, in particular, who have been watching people who are way more mechanically skilled, and then try to copy those people. It's just a mass of movement without any real point to it, and then attempts at "big plays". They don't get that for really skilled players, there is almost always a purpose behind everything they do.

Jesus Christ, i have probelms with habitual reloads but this is insane. I'm two minutes in and this guy has reloaded like 2 dozen times already. Edit: I was being hynerbolic, but he actually reloads 13 times in 42 seconds. Holy hell.

Junkrat players are similar to shaco players from league. They are living happily in their own little fantasy world singing its a small world while they spend most of the time trying to come up with the most fun idea in their head no matter how long they have to stay still for despite there being more straight forward things they could be doing.

As a Junkrat main back when I used to play OW1, seeing this makes me cringe. One of the best thing about Junkrat that this payer seems to not get is that you don’t need to see your enemy in order to zone them out. This player seemed afraid to fire bombs from the safety of cover, ESPECIALLY when they were on high ground. Yeah, your accuracy might not be great, but there is nothing more terrifying than potentially mistiming the reload of a Junkrat and losing half your health to a headshot bomb through a choke point.

At silver you can just lob nades into common group up areas and still get kills, you don't even have to be in LOS to where the nades land lol.

I'm pretty certain anyone can make it out of the metal ranks by simply positioning right, spamming chokes, and good ult usage with Junk. I don't think there's a hero in the game with so much reward at the skill floor. That's not saying that you can't be totally cracked at him because his skill ceiling is super high. I'm just saying the most basic of Junk play with a little game sense will carry anyone out of metal.

Junkrat 💕 my favorite hero to play badly! You literally can just spam things fly through the air in the entire time he’s cheering you on with goofy voice lines. He is my self-care hero, and if I’m having a really bad day, I will definitely go play against AI and just blow things up. I adore this character.❤

This Junkrat player wants every single shot and ability and play to be extremely high value - so they hyperfocus on everything they do and fail as a result because the shit they're trying to pull off would require T500 game sense and mechanics to support. And I'm not saying this as "these are plays a T500 would make". No I'm saying it as in "there's no way any of this won't fail or be a waste of time unless you have 10x the skill of your current rank". Instead of trying to uber maximize the value of every little thing you do, try instead to just do a lot more basic stuff. You could be having 4x the uptime on average if you just THINK LESS. Like I'm dead serious, you're overthinking everything. Some weed might help you lol, seriously. Calm your thoughts, stop thinking about every little detail, just do the basics: Spam chokes, play from angles/high grounds, don't just walk around in the open or stroll down main. Don't chase kills, focus on maintaining good positions where you're safe and you can deny enemy value. Use your ult when you have it, don't set up the trap+mine combo every time because it's LITERALLY USELESS. It is. You're getting negative value because you're postponing your ult as you wait for your cooldowns to come online for ZERO REASON. Just use the ult, get a kill, get back to spamming your grenades and get value to build your next ult. DON'T overthink. Don't worry about if the enemy hears you, don't worry about executing perfect combos, don't worry about doing double or triple mine map traversal. If you wanna get a high ground, use a mine. If you wanna get past a choke, use a mine. There is NO circumstance where a double or triple mine repositioning play will EVER benefit you more than what the worth of the risk that follows and the time you're wasting by setting it up. Think less, do more. And practice Junkrat aim trainer. You need it. Predict shots instead of react shots.

I think a good tip for this guy is to watch more videos of people playing junkrat, this character is really easy to play, like... I've only played with junk 3 times in my life and I didn't feel anything was really difficult with him. with good game sense and experience you don't struggle a lot against most of the characters, except maybe to some counters like tracer, widow, Pharah...

As someone who plays Junkrat and Sombra (was a Sombra main in OW1), I do agree that Sombra may be better for them to pick up as a flank character while learning flank Junk. Flank Rat CAN work but it requires practice, you can't just watch videos on the playstyle and just adopt it. T500 flank Rats have so much experience and mechanical skill, these are people who persist playing him regardless of counters and can hit those predictions. I think if this player keeps practicing and using both flank and team play styles with Junk, they'll go far.
